25.01.2022 Only been over 12 months since a review has been posted, I'm clearly not drinking enough!! Tonight's review comes from Mexico! Well, kind of... Pancho Villa in North Hobart has a great feel about it. Having never been to Mexico, I couldn't say if it's a true representation or not, but I loved it. The dark, smokey incensed atmosphere, the tunnel to the courtyard, the decorated skulls on the wall, all help to give the place a great vibe. The Martini consists of Tequila Café, Espresso and Vanilla. The coffee has some chocolate undertones, and the tequila gives it a different flavour, but I rate it. If I weren't driving, I'd definitely order another!

23.01.2022 Dinner doesn't start until the Espresso Martini has been made. The Westend has a very standard recipe, but nice and strong. Sorry, too tired to write anything witty tonight, this caffeine is needed!!

22.01.2022 It's been a hell of a long time between drinks!! We started at the Hope & Anchor to celebrate a good friends 30th. They don't have martini glasses, but they had a good crack at accommodating, and didn't make a bad one. After a quick vodka at Knoppys, which had been full of men over 50, we headed to Bar Celona. A much more upbeat vibe, perfect for the Guinness drinking, moustache wearing hipsters. With an impressive cocktail list, but no Espresso Martini in site, I thought I was out of luck. It's worth asking though, and these guys did not fail to produce. Espresso, Vodka & Kahlua - simple ingredients, but an amazing result. Even had a convert or two in the group! It's what it's about, sharing the love of the perfect Espresso Martini!

22.01.2022 Wow, just wow. Last night a surprise visit to St Albi's was had. Not only had I never heard of this place, but I'd probably driven past on Albert Road multiple times and never even noticed it. Not only was the food & service beyond amazing, but this little gem was up there with the smoothest martinis I've had. I was too distracted by the staff singing happy birthday to me to notice what was in the martini, but I rate it as quite possibly the best I've had. 5 out of 5!!

21.01.2022 So we've moved on. It may be the fact that I've had multiple drinks at Cargo, but this Espresso Martini has nothing on the last. Kahlua, vanilla vodka (undisclosed label) and a shot of Espresso. Less alcohol content for starters....

21.01.2022 So tonight we went old school! The Birdcage! If anyone frequented Wrest Point in the 90's, nothing has changed... Except, this time, I was legal, and brave enough to order something better than a Fruit Tingle. The Espresso Martini here was not bloody bad, helped along by the fact it was happy hour, $13.50?? Make that 2!! Kahlua, Vanilla Absolute, Tia Maria & Creme de Cacao, with a "Special Ingredient" (read - Chilled Espresso...) made for a damn good martini. Rated at 4 Coffee Beans, may have been helped along by a bottle of Josef Chromy Sparkling downed first... Bottoms up!!

20.01.2022 Those who know me, know that my fave drink of choice is an Espresso Martini. Unfortunately in Hobart, they can be a bit hit & miss. When you're paying in the vicinity of $20 for one drink, you want it to be good. It's not often I get out and about, so posts may be delayed in between, but follow my journey in search of the perfect Espresso Martini! First up - Cargo. This Espresso Martini is made up of an Espresso shot, sugar syrup, Vanilla Galliano, Eristoff Vodka & Kahlua. Pretty darn good start to my journey, 4 coffee bean rating!

13.01.2022 I don't think I've EVER said these words before.... I think a trip to the Vic Tav is in order!

12.01.2022 No Espresso Martinis here, and I was concerned that the options were only Beer & Wine, thank god there is Vodka!!
