02.01.2022 Dear friends, As we mark the passing of the 5th anniversary of the Sydney building fire we are letting you know that The Phoenix is closed until further notice. To recap, we are facing a fight on three fronts: the fallout from an illegal eviction by L J Hooker commercial real estate and their deception & mismanagement over the property; an uninsured landlord from the Old Phoenix Pub, and, Iori Group (whose restaurant was the source of the fire) delaying and blocking of The Ph...oenix’s insurance claim. Last year, you saved The Phoenix from being permanently shut down though the amazing support through the gofundme campaign and all the band's never ending support. For the last year we have been awaiting the insurance claim from the fire 5 years ago, however as it still has not cleared we cannot commit to another quarter of licensing/insurance fees until it does. We have been repeatedly advised that it would clear by this week, but as it has not we unfortunately have to shut until it does. We are not giving up and hope to inform you of our reopening soon.
