08.01.2022 We have changed our venue for our Monthly meet to 3rd Friday of the month. Trialling a new venue in Mackay. Who is ready for some exciting workshops?

07.01.2022 Centring your subject in your images is a "photo no-no" and can cause your images to be a bit boring. The main reason is because our eyes centre whatever we look at. When we look at a subject centred in a photo it is not very interesting to the viewer. To step up your game, you can simply offset your subject using the rule of thirds. How to Nail the Rule of Thirds 1. See if your camera has a grid that you can turn on to remind you 2. Offset your subject to fit on or close to... the intersections 3. Leave room for your subject to move forward 4. Choose the background or the foreground for placing the horizon in the top or bottom third Love to see how you went with this weeks tip.

06.01.2022 Better photos start with changing your perspective and not just taking snapshots without meaning or purpose. We really need to be thinking about our objective before we pull out our camera. There are 5 ways to change your perspective when taking a photo. 1. Avoid the "Tourist Shot" 2. Shoot from a lower or higher perspective. 3. Manipulate the subject to create something... 4. Manipulate the distance between you, the subject & background 5. Take a variety of different perspectives shots My challenge to you this week is to try something a little different from your usual shots. Get down low and shoot up or even take a step closer and fill your frame. Post your photos and tell us what you did different.

06.01.2022 This is always a fantastic event and lucky for us, right here in Mackay.
