25.01.2022 SQUAT FOR LIFE! Squats are great for so many reasons, and also come in many variations! You can Airsquat, front squat, Backsquat, split squat, goblet squat...Honestly the list goes on and on! The point? Squats are a necessary and functional movement! They are great because they work multiple joints, multiple muscle, imprpve stability innthe lumbopelvic region and actually assist with maintaining synovial fluid production and joint health in your knees! 23.01.2022 Squat warm-up! A great way to get those glute (aka butt muscles) primed and ready for squatting is by doing these banded monster walk drills! Recent studies have shown that by placing these bands around the feet we truly bias glute medius with less interference from hip flexor or anterior muscles! 20.01.2022 Shoulder prehab and rehab: Negative Pull-ups are a great exercise to incorporate into your training for both recovery and injury prevention! You can use a box or band and jump to the chin over bar starting position. The key is the to SLOWLY LOWER spending time under tension as you descend into the bottom position of the pull-up. You can perform this seated on the floor, or lying on your back with your legs up against a wall- you can also use bands and broomsticks to assist with range and increase the stretch! There are many wonderful variations, but working this into your routine is great for lateral movement, improving the fascial glide of hamstrings, adductors and medial thigh muscles! My response is to encourage you to flip your perspective- look at your injury as an opportunity to work on other areas, to develop other skills.
