10.01.2022 Ooooh-weeee! Look at these babies! These are what we call the Philodendron squamiferum (or as Maz called them, the Sasquatch ) They are native to Brazil, Colombia and Peru and this variety is commonly called the Red Bristle Philodendron. This easy to care for plant can adapt to all kinds of conditions (as long as its warm), making it a popular houseplant. This bad boy has large green leaves with 5 distinct lobes to each leaf and a red bristle like hairs up the stems. The juvenille leaves start as a solid leaf and develops its distinctive lobes as the plant matures. They love humidity, but let the top layer of soil dry between watering.
