20.01.2022 A RAP in action! Amanda from Kids Club Margaret River was kind enough to give us an example of their Learning Stories to share with you all - Embedding Cultural experiences. Outcome 2: Children and connected with and contribute to their world.... EYLF 2.1 Children develop a sense of belonging to groups and communities and an understanding of the reciprocal rights and responsibilities necessary for active community participation. 2.2 Children respond to diversity with respect. MTOP 2.1 Children develop a sense of belonging to groups and communities and an understanding of the reciprocal rights and responsibilities necessary for active community participation. 2.2 Children respond to diversity with respect. Observation Narrative Twice a week Tiff and Maree come in to Kids Club to continue their weaving with us. They have taught us that traditionally aboriginal women weave their baskets to help them when they go out bush to gather food such as berries, nuts, yams and grubs. We have also discussed what aboriginal men traditionally do. We had a terrific discussion about how women gather and men hunt foods. We then split the children into two groups, the girls practiced weaving with Tiff and the boys painted with Marie. We are lucky to have a Noongar teacher who works every afternoon in Kids Club and he spent time painting the didgeridoo’s. Didgeridoo’s are culturally for boys and men only to play. Reflection of Learning It is terrific for the Kids Club children and staff to see Crystal, Grant and Jocelyn who used to be Kids Club children themselves come in and share their cultural knowledge. Learning from them helps the children to develop a deeper understanding and have greater respect for our aboriginal culture. We made a conscious decision to sit with each other to learn to pay respect to traditional ways.

09.01.2022 We know how fantastic Claire is at delivering a kick ass personalised training session. But it is always nice to receive feedback like this. There are a lot of hours put in behind the scenes to deliver a tailored training workshop that really resonates with the staff. And when we’re met with a really enthusiastic team it makes it all the sweeter. Thank you FROGS Early Learning Centre for your enthusiasm and dedication

09.01.2022 A friendly reminder to families that your Early Learning Service is following the advice of the Health Department. If your child shows signs of being unwell whilst attending their Service you may be asked to collect them. Let's all work together to reduce infection and make this the healthiest winter in child care. #thepodsw #wereallinthistogether

05.01.2022 Annie's Angels Play And Development Centre created an amazing stall for their community at the Teddy Bears Picnic event by the Harvey Early Years Network in partnership with the Harvey Recreation & Cultural Centre. No detail was spared including a bear themed music playlist! The Service prepared home made chocolate spread for the children to create a bear sandwich which went down an absolute treat.... Well done to Claire, Sharon and everyone at Annies Angels.

04.01.2022 We can't get enough of this initiative from Online Child Care and Kindy - BUSH KIDS. Welcome to OLCC Bush Kids Recycling Studio! The aim of this page is to provide education, tips and support on ways to introduce sustainable practices into your lifestyle as well as a way for their Centre, and the children at their Centre to connect with their local community. This page is used to showcase products and creations that are made by the children who attend OLCC from recycled materials. These products/ creations will be available to the community through a trading system. This involves trading the product/ creation for more recycled materials to stock their studio.

01.01.2022 As you are aware, the Australian Government has announced the return to Child Care Subsidy and Additional Child Care Subsidy from the 13th of July. Now it's time to transition. DESE has some great information on how you can support your families through this transition period.
