17.01.2022 Hello, my name is Rubble and I ate 27 Woolworths Ooshies ! I was quite unwell for a few days and had to have close monitoring and intravenous fluids at The Point Vet (the girls loved me!). I finally passed them all safely! But I felt a little silly Just a reminder, Ooshies are not for eating!

15.01.2022 We often are asked "Why do I need to desex my dog?" We, as animal health professionals would only ever recommend the best for your pets as we do for our own. We do this job, because we love animals. Trust us when we say, desexing your dog is a wise choice. ... To put it simply, desexing your pet at a younger age, depending on their breed, not only helps reduce the risk of health issues later on in life like mammary, testicular, or ovarian cancer, its also going to save you money, and potentially your pets life. For example, if your female dog develops a "Pyometra" (a uterus filled with pus, which majority of mature female entire dogs will) the major emergency surgery she will need, will most likely cost up to 10 times the regular price of regular desexing. There are plenty of other reasons, this is just one. Have a chat to your vet about it at your next appointment Left is a normal healthy uterus on for routine desexing. Right is a uterus filled with pus, a very sick dog and emergency surgery at 7pm on a Friday night for us to save her life.

13.01.2022 As most of you will know, It can be very unpredictable what is going to come through our doors at any time. As we are a regular general practice and also a veterinary hospital in one. We see patients for regular health checks and also patients with extreme trauma and emergencies. We cannot physically plan or schedule for when an emergency comes racing through our doors! That is why we want to say a huge thank you, to everyone who is caring, kind, patient and let our cari...ng vets attend to the most critical patients first. The ones that need it most. It’s nice to remember that if your pet was in the same situation, other people would prioritise you and your pet. Our google page states People typically spend 30 min here to allow for the vary in wait and consultation times. Please be kind to your veterinarians & vet nurses. We are under extreme pressure at the best of times. Here are a few articles about stress within the veterinary industry in the last 12 months, a bit of food for thought, please be kind https://www.sbs.com.au//a-look-at-australia-s-veterinarian https://www.abc.net.au//vet-shortage-as-suicide-r/10708686 https://www.loveyourpetloveyourvet.com.au//veterinarian-su https://www.mamamia.com.au/vet-suicide/ https://www.petprofessional.com.au//why-do-vets-face-high/ https://www.dailymail.co.uk//The-high-stress-life-vets-fue #vetclinic #vet #vetnurse #veterinarian

07.01.2022 Dr Martika & Nurse Zoe in the surgical suite working their magic Emergency desexing for a very unwell patient, she presented to us with extreme lethargy, vomiting, diarrhoea. A quick ultrasound to confirm - her uterus was filled with pus and infection. She was not in a good way, and her life depended on this surgery. A scary couple of hours, but this dog recovered well and now has many full years ahead of her Amazing work girls, so much love #desexing #vet #vetclinic #vetnurse
