16.01.2022 "SOMETHING CAME UP AGAIN...I CAN'T ACHIEVE MY GOALS RIGHT NOW!" If you are trying to achieve a goal but have run into an obstacle FEAR NOT - here is how I transformed my body with an injured shoulder AND hip!! Two years ago I underwent surgery on my shoulder and hip at the same time. Instead of throwing a pity party and listing all the reasons I couldn’t focus on my health, I switched mindsets!... I researched exercises that I could do with only one arm and leg operational and created a training plan I altered my nutrition to maintain muscle mass whilst losing fat I wrote down some benchmarks and goals to achieve I created a rehab journey Instagram page to keep myself accountable I scheduled in meal preps, training sessions, rehab and recovery sessions into my diary and stuck to it And with A LOT of hard work, I was able to achieve the results shown (right side) ....and with a lot of hard work + CONSISTENCY, I was able to improve upon those results to achieve an even stronger mind and body (left side pic) The TRICK is to see your obstacles as opportunities! Ask yourself; what CAN I do in this situation? How can I use this as an opportunity? If you’ve got an injury -> Sweet! It’s time to switch up your training AND dedicate more time to your nutrition If you can’t afford a gym membership -> Sweet! There are endless amounts of workouts you can do at home. If you feel guilty for taking time away from your kids -> Sweet! Get them involved! Have them join you on a run, take them down to the park. If you’re travelling for work and are out of routine > Sweet! A chance to get active and explore a new location! LOOK FOR AN OPPORTUNITY! There really is an answer for every obstacle we face we just have to want it bad enough to go looking!!
15.01.2022 New Zealand Nationals done and dusted! Had an awesome time competing on the weekend and stoked to have finished better than I expected (15th) with 3 top 5 finishes and a couple not so great finishes (). Can’t wait for the next comp and pumped to get stuck into training again this week ... Just want to say a huge THANK YOU all for your support and kind messages throughout the weekend!! Also a HUGE thank you to our sponsor The Pig Athletic Club for all of your support over the weekend and the mad gears! Check them out!
15.01.2022 Are you making more deposits or withdrawals? #foodforthought
13.01.2022 Here's the truth. That first step is often the scariest. Your first workout might make you feel and completely out of your depth. ... The first healthy meal you cook might taste and have you thinking I don’t know if I can keep doing this... And that's ok. Anything worth pursuing will come with its challenges. The good thing is the higher you get on that staircase, the better the view. Your fear and discomfort starts to turn into belief and confidence. So if you’re looking to change Start. Push through discomfort. Keep going.
11.01.2022 Sometimes you gotta be your own HYPE man I LOVE training with the crew, but 90-95% of the time, I have to train alone so if I don’t cheer, no one will! So for those times you’re training alone: ... Yourself on that back Cheer yourself on! and get after your goals! See more

On a completely unrelated note, if there’s any lifeguards in the Hamilton area on Saturday can you please keep an eye out for a Samoan man in @pigathleticclub_apparel budgie smugglers...
02.01.2022 Have you fallen off track in 2019? Here are some tips to finish the year off strong 1. Find a sustainable way to consume less Calories! There are so many methods out there, so find one that fits you!... 2. Most of your diet should consist of whole foods 3. Eliminating ALL of your favourite foods doesn’t last long! Find a way to include them into your diet so you don’t feel so deprived. 4. That doesn’t mean you can eat them all of the time! As a guide, aim for 80% of your meals coming from whole foods and 20% of your faves. 5. Protein rich foods will help to control your hunger and build/maintain muscle mass 6. Weights training helps to retain (and build) lean muscle mass whilst losing the fat 7. Sprinkle in some walks, take the stairs, jump in on some classes. It all adds up! 8. The Calories you burn are insignificant compared to how easy they are to consume. Prioritise your nutrition and sprinkle in some cardio, not the other way around. 9. It took years to put the weight on so don't expect a detox, supplement or fad diet to fix years of bad habits. BE PATIENT! 10. REPEAT these steps consistently. Now go get it team!
