25.01.2022 Had the best time presenting for @the_sales_squad_ . The most important part of many performances in life is controlling your emotional state the moments/minutes before your event or performance etc. The nervous system which is often pretty bloody nervous can send messages that are similar to the ones when your life is in actual danger. The best way to regulate your nervous system in order to stay focused and in control is through controlling first your breath. If you’ve watched Kung Fu Panda you will know this . Which is why before entering the stage in front of a big crowd I first do some breath work in order to perform at my best.

24.01.2022 Today we seem to be so, in our head. Disconnected from the body. The body has wisdom, the body knows how to do this dive but often the moments before a big dive, a job interview, an audition and so on, the anxiety builds so much that it details our ability to relax and think clearly... our nervous system can be controlled or can control us. Its a two way feedback loop. Relaxing the body relaxes the mind and a calm mind relaxes the body. Take time to connect the two as regularly as possible and it will become a habit and you will unlock power you didnt know you possessed. (Mind body connection) @_kalindi

24.01.2022 Was a bit slow out of the gates this year for Movember but would love to donate to someone raising funds with their amazing Moustache. Prostate cancer in particular has hit quite a few men in my family.... so please tag someone who is growing hair on their top lip and I will choose a worthy Man to donate to . This was my best attempt, Chopper! @daanverhoevenfreediver

22.01.2022 @shakiahmay completing her PADI Freediver course today on the HMAS Brisbane. Photo of the day and always the ones you dont plan .

21.01.2022 Back here January 14-17th 2021. Only a few spots left for what can only be described as underwater Avatar.

21.01.2022 Sharing my passion with my small humans. Taj and Ocean breathing up before exploring the Ocean beneath at Stradbroke Island.

20.01.2022 The Blowhole! One of the most exciting parts of Freediving is they swim through. Finding a big cave and then taking it on. This was defintiely@the biggest and most spectacular I have done to date. The sense of adventure of whats in there, (turtle in this case), do I have the capability, and can it easily be safetied. All of the above were affirmative so away @shaunlemura and I went. About 20m to the entrance, 15-20m across, and about 23m up once out of the exit. Enjoy .

20.01.2022 @jordy_blair completing her Padi Freediver course over the weekend. @adamsellarsfreediver

20.01.2022 Letting go of the illusion of control and being fluid and flexible like you can be in water is key to not letting your emotional state be controlled by things that are often outside of your control. (I did not say Pivot...god dammit). Freediver: @taniadouthwaite @blueback.freediving.yoga @adamsellarsfreediver

20.01.2022 Our second Freediving and Meditation retreat at Lady Elliot Island was again a huge success. The joy of running these is watching people come together connecting with each other, connecting with the environment and re-connecting with self. Some amazing examples of overcoming fear and anxiety were seen over the last 6 days. Thank you to all who attended. Thank you to my instructors @charliesteinhofer @oceansense.freedivingandscuba @ellepower77 @sommerso_fins @reflexfd @sommers...ofins for sharing their knowledge, passion and love on the buoy. 19.01.2022 My new life . Not so long ago I was a trainer in the corporate world, great gig however I started to struggle with the content I was delivering. This is now me after a hard days work. Completely dived out, Salty, beer in hand, on a tropical Island surrounded by friends. And hopefully making a small difference in peoples lives. @hannahjessupphotography

18.01.2022 This Pretty much sums up Lady Elliot Island. Not really knowing where to point the camera..... Eagle Ray, followed by a Shark all on one breath all whilst listening to Whales singing in the background. @tyson_robb_jones who is also a new member certified Freediver @paditv

15.01.2022 Different angle of Chloe the Tiger Shark. We also had the pleasure of sitting in on a presentation from Richard Fitzpatrick from @biopixeltv who is doing some amazing work on the reef and with Tiger Sharks. Turns out you just squeeze their tails and they have a little sleep which allows Richard to tag them so he can track their patterns in order to protect these beautiful animals. @adamsellarsfreediver

15.01.2022 Sometimes I sit on a 133m Warship 15m underwater and think, other times I just sit and think. I believe this is the famous quote. @phelps.grant @adamsellarsfreediver

14.01.2022 Whilst we played at Fraser Island. Saddest news, fellow Freediver/Spearo, family man, and all round gentleman Matty Tratt passed away doing what he loved on a family trip. Salt absolutely coursed through this guys veins. Thoughts are with his family through these tough times. May the waters always be clear and calm and the Oceans above be your playground forever more . Much love brother.

14.01.2022 Now this was Pressure! Havent really posted about my stint on Reality TV, mainly due to some embarrassment about it but this time last year I, along with some other brave souls debuted as Comedians at the Sydney Comedy club in front of a packed house. It made the whole Reality TV experience worth while. We only had about 2 hours in total to write a 5 minute skit rehearse it and then deliver it. One of the best experiences of my life. Its also well documented that laughter and humour has amazing healing properties both physically and mentally. See this 1 minute snippet from my act. @bacheloretteau @channel10au

14.01.2022 The Pressure Project Christmas party was a blast!!! The weekend just passed saw a gathering of people that make the Sunshine Coast Freediving community what it is. Big, loud, and full of Joy. We all share our struggles but also share our triumphs. The year that has been was challenging but ended up being the best year in a lot of ways for The Pressure Project. Thank you to everyone for the year and look forward to 2021 being another year of making a difference in the world one breathhold at a time

14.01.2022 I want to Share @jordy_blair story after completing her Freediver course on the weekend. What an insight and great to get an insight from a girls perspective. Story continues in comment section. "Do you know what it feels like to feel free? I think I do... so grab yourself a orand let me share a story with you. Growing up in Townsville and now living in the big smoke, I crave that slower pace, just two minutes to breathe, to notice the sun is outand how blue the sky... is. But my mind can be a busy place. Im constantly thinking about what I need to do next; do I have enough time to fit everything in; Jordan, please make sure you call your grandad, and visit your Mum and Dad on the weekend; are you ever going to meet a guy who loves you just as you are; what course should I study next; you didnt exercise this week; how can I do and be better; and ultimately, are you making a difference? Needless to say, I find it difficult to slow down and just be. A few months ago, I heard of this thing called freediving - diving without an oxygen tank - and naturally, decided I had to get certified. So on the weekend, I commenced my PADI Freediver course. Id been practising some underwater work and breath holds out of water in the lead up to the course and had set my goals for static apnea (diving for time) and dynamic freediving (diving for distance with fins) at three mins and 75m respectively. I knew Id get the 75m but when I took my last breath for the static apnea, I immediately felt that I hadnt taken a full breath and after just 30 seconds, negative thoughts started to creep in. By two mins 30, my body was telling me I should breathe soon. But at two mins 45, something changed in me. I reassured myself that everything was okay and I was exactly where I wanted to be; I didnt need to think or worry about anything or anyone else in that moment and then all of a sudden, I felt completely at ease. I heard our instructor call three mins and 3.30 and I remember thinking Ive got this, my lungs are still full of air. My instructor brought me up to breathe at four mins... and for a moment, I was disappointed that I didnt get to see how long I could go

13.01.2022 Turtle and Leopard Shark taking a load off after one of our many meditation sessions on our recent @ladyelliotislandecoresort retreats.

13.01.2022 Doing a podcast with these guys @ocean.protect was so much fun. We talk all things Freediving, Ocean, stress and anxiety releasing techniques and a whole lot More. Check out part 1 of 2 on their Ocean protect podcast. We have a ball!!! https://play.acast.com/s/ocean-protect

13.01.2022 Lady Elliot Island Wow!! The first Freediving retreat ever held on the Island and what a success and pleasure to run. As a group we were spoiled with what nature provided us as well as exploring the inner depths of our minds and what we all thought were our limits. Flying onto an Island without Wifi and phone reception was refreshing and regenerative. Many completed their PADI courses as well as participating in Meditation sessions, yoga sessions, a talk by Richard Fitzpatr...ick who happens to film and complete research for BBC and Nat Geo. We also had project manta present on all things Manta related and what we all can do to help preserve these amazing creatures. Fun diving the healthy reef systems, line diving around the severance wreck whilst Sharks curiously swam around our Freediving set up. The Pressure Project also had its first proposal on retreat . Together we laughed, played, explored and grew as a collective and the energy was second to none. The Ocean provided the perfect playground... we swam with WHALES, MANTA AND EAGLE RAYS, SHARKS, TURTLES, QLD GROUPERS, just to name a few. What an adventure and huge thanks must go to the staff @ladyelliotislandecoresort who were amazing. My instructors and master assistants @purebreath.freediving @t_w_b3 @rarch5872. @richard_fitzpatrick_acs from Biopixal and Asia from @projectmanta for their presentations. And @brandanwebbphoto for all his hard work behind the camera @paditv @paditravel

12.01.2022 Im often asked what do you think of on your dives? One of the techniques I use is just a mantra.... used for centuries in meditation this technique I use to keep my form and keep myself in the most hydrodynamic position possible. My mantra... hips,hips,hips,hips,hips.... reminding me to kick from the hips and relaxing the rest of the body. Keeps my form tight and my mind present. @daanverhoevenfreediver

12.01.2022 Geoff the Giant Pectrel. @brandanwebbphoto

11.01.2022 Off to Lady Elliot Island tomorrow for the Pressure project retreat. Freediving, Yoga, Meditation, wildlife exploration with no reception or wifi. Spots are still available on the AUGUST RETREAT so dont miss out private message for more info!!! @ Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort

09.01.2022 Freediving is not a sport, it’s a way of understanding who we are! Natalia Molchanova @_kalindi

09.01.2022 Heres a very safe way to train through this Pandemic. Sparing a thought for my good friend Echart from @salt_sessions_freediving ,in shot training with me, hope you can get out soon mate so we can get back to running epic retreats at Kilsby Sinkhole.

08.01.2022 Its common knowledge that Freediving brings you to the Present moment. I love also how it heightens your senses! Sound travels 3 times faster and further underwater whilst blocking out most of the white noise. What is left over is the cracks and pops of the reef and often the singing Humpbacks. No one can reach me I cant check my emails or socials although I tried here with my Maxwell smart Fin Phone . @blaze_parsons

08.01.2022 @nadjadubislav swimming with the big eye Trevally, a truly unique experience is swimming into the middle and watching them school around you and accept you in. @brandanwebbphoto

08.01.2022 Go explore, go deep, I got you! @ryan_archbold_ @ellepower77 @adamsellarsfreediver

06.01.2022 Geoff the Southern Giant Petrel. Nature offers some amazing interactions. This one one of my favourites. Geoff decided to land in the middle of us a group of Freedivers and proceeded to go up and have a chat to each one of us before attacking our cameras as he could see his own reflection. Incredible bird and thanks for the memories Geoff. @brandanwebbphoto in shot. @adamsellarsfreediver

05.01.2022 Through these gates is where my meditation journey began and a large portion of my life purpose and the fabric of what is now The Pressure Project was born. Today I ran a workshop for a group of aspiring Yoga Teachers run by @erinlee_yogini. It almost felt like I was meant to re-visit this place, (Buddhist Monastery), as a reminder of how far I’ve come but also the path of higher consciousness never has a finishing line. You continue to look within and grow outwards.

05.01.2022 Whats the most Important part of this dive????? @alexstjeanphoto

03.01.2022 Few last minute tickets to Pressure Project Xmas cruise!!! Tomorrow 2pm

03.01.2022 Underwater Rugby. I couldnt stop the big fella Ben Toft. The post try celebration is worth the wait. @ryan_archbold_

02.01.2022 The Eagle Rays are back in numbers. 4 of these beautiful creatures in shot were playing on the weekends Freediver course on the Ex-HMAS Brisbane. @adamsellarsfreediver

01.01.2022 Lung capacity is not a thing! Increasing flexibility around the Thoracic region makes room for your lungs to expand to a much greater extent. Freediving basically just adopted Yoga and made it apart of the fabric of what makes Freediving so special. The two share the same ideals and foundations. Pranayama.... Breath. Meditation..... staying present. Both incorporate movement, breath and mindfulness. May they forever be bedfellows . Thanks to @the.sunshine.yogi for todays session and reminding me of the I@pittance to get back to my practice. @adamfreediver Visuals: @maik_burghardt
