24.01.2022 All pets must be kept in cool, shady areas THIS SUMMER. It is ideal to bring pets indoors on hot days. If you're feeling warm, chances are they are too. Short nosed or flat faced dogs breeds are also more susceptible to heat stroke e.g. Pugs, English bulldogs, French bulldogs. Safety Tips: *Fresh cool water replenished throughout the day *Access to shaded areas... *Never leave animals in cars *Walk in the early mornings or early evening (mindful of sunburn/heatstroke as well as hot footpaths) See more

24.01.2022 *Cuteness alert!* This is Molly, Maxi and Ellie who visited the Pymble Vet for annual vaccinations and an allergy injection for Ellie. See the photo to the left is the trio at the vet- it was not an easy task to get them all to stand still at the SAME time. The owner sent the photo to the right of them being very still and well behaved! And looking adorable of course!... This trio were full of personality and certainly got some love and attention when they visited the Pymble Vet Clinic.
23.01.2022 ATTENTION DOG OWNERS Leptospirosis- a deadly disease affecting dogs on Sydneys North Shore! A deadly bacterial disease, leptospirosis, has recently made headlines in Sydney. There has been an increase in case numbers in the North Shore area and all pets presenting with the disease have died. Pymble vet is now recommending a highly effective preventative vaccine for all dogs in our area.... What is Leptospirosis? Leptospirosis is an infectious disease that causes serious illness in dogs, other animals, and even people. Thats right, this disease also poses a risk to us? The disease is caused by spiral-shaped bacteria called leptospires that live in water or warm, wet soil. The disease is largely spread through rat urine which contaminates stagnant water. Dogs can present with many different symptoms ranging from lethargy, fever, diarrhoea and vomiting to kidney and liver failure. How do I protect my dog? Pymble Veterinary Clinic recommends that all dogs be vaccinated against this disease. The vaccination starts with a course of two injections 2-4 weeks apart. Please phone 94994010 to make an appointment now. To minimise risk of exposure: Avoid stagnant water: Dont let your dog drink from puddles and take your own portable bowl to the dog park. If you have rats around your house we suggest you try to reduce these numbers if possible, But please be careful rat bait is highly toxic to dogs and you must ensure any rat bait is put in locked pet proof boxes. Discuss this with your pest control company. If you have any further questions about the vaccination or to book an appointment please dont hesitate to call Pymble Veterinary Clinic on 94994010.

22.01.2022 Is your senior pet due for a checkup? A dog is considered senior over the age of 7 and a cat is considered senior over the age over 10. Dogs and cats are prone to debilitating ailments as they age such as kidney failure, heart disease, arthritis, dental disease, cancer, and cognitive dysfunction. Not to mention one year could be UP TO 7 YEARS of missing a health check for your pet! This is why regular veterinary visits are so important. Things to look out for in senior pets m...ight include: Increased thirst and urination, vomiting, bad breath, drooling, weight loss/gain, disorientation or changes in appetite / behaviour. Early detection is vital in extending the quality of life for our elderly family members. This month we are offering a comprehensive senior health check for your pet with one of our experienced vets and heavily discounted senior blood and urine pathology profiles. In addition, if we think based on any results that your pet would benefit from a specific diet, Hills have come on board and are happy to give you both the first AND second bag of one of their super premium diets at 50% off! A one- stop check up for your pet over 7yrs of age for the month of July! Please call The Pymble Vet Clinic on 94994010 to book in your pets geriatric health check today.

13.01.2022 Attention! The dreadful Paralysis Tick is out in full force. Is your pet up to date with tick prevention? Pymble Vet Clinic has had a sudden influx of paralysis tick cases in the last 7 days alone. Paralysis ticks were found on all of these patients and all required treatment. We have also removed several paralysis ticks from dogs and cats over the last few weeks in the waiting room. Thankfully these patients were on tick prevention so the tick was dying and the animal was un...affected by the deadly paralysis tick. These have all been a mix of cats and dogs! Paralysis ticks do not discriminate! Prevention is better than a cure! It's simple! Now we have many truly effective products for both dogs and cats! They come in the form of tasty chews for dogs, or spot on applications for cats. The nurses will also always happily administer any treatment at the clinic free of charge! Why buy your tick product from us? We have a loyalty card so every 5th bravecto is free. This rewards our loyal customers with a 20% discount on price overall if you buy it from us regularly. We will also sms you when your next bravecto is due so you don’t forget. Also if your pet gets a tick and gets sick and you bought your bravecto from a vet then the company will pay up to $3000 worth of vet fees as a guarantee on their product. Also if your dog vomits the tablet the company will give us a free one at no charge for you. No pet shop will give such guarantees. Hopefully this gives some peace of mind when purchasing from us. We do appreciate our locals loyalty and we are certainly trying our best to keep costs as low as we can and reward you with quality service and guarantees. Please give us a call on 94994010 or pop in and speak to one of our knowledgeable nurses about options for your pet!
12.01.2022 Found Cat/Missing Owner- please share. This male cat was found last Sunday outside 27 Boronga Ave, West Pymble. He was near death due to paralysis ticks, but he made a miraculous recovery due to the wonderful staff at Northside Emergency Veterinary Service. He is now waiting at Thornleigh Vet pound for his owner to claim him. He is an intact male, with no microchip, and was not wearing a collar. He looks like he has been shaved during his treatment. He is very frightened, bu...t can be handled and was in very good condition when found (other than the effects of the tick) so is likely to be someone’s pet. Please contact Thornleigh Vet on 9484 7418 if you know who he is or belongs to.

This is 5 year old Lily and 3 year old Willow and they were visiting the vet clinic for their annual health check up and vaccinations. Did you know that your pet not visiting the vet for one year is equal to us not visiting the doctor for 7 years?! ... Annual health checks are so important as it gives the vet a chance to perform a full physical examination- such as listening to your pet's heart and checking their teeth and ears among many other things! This also allows you the opportunity to ask any questions or voice any concerns that we may be able to assist with! See more
09.01.2022 Poor Disel! Disel got his nail caught in a fence and it was hanging off! After the nail was removed and a light bandage was placed Disel was all fixed up! His tail did not stop wagging until the cone came out!... He definitely looks a bit embarrassed! Oh well- only a few days with the collar on Disel and hopefully you should be good as new!
