25.01.2022 * * * ANOTHER ONE * * * Another video of 3620 from Thursday. Why? Because we can! Who doesn't need a distraction on a rainy day like this?!

25.01.2022 * * * INSPECTOR WILLIAM * * * This morning the youngest member of The Q Train team inspected the 'new' steam locomotive 3620. His initial assessment found that she was very big, a little bit scary, but makes a sufficiently excellent Toot Toot sound. We cannot wait to get back on the tracks in 2021 and formally introduce you all to 3620. You're going to love her!

21.01.2022 * * * NOW WHAT? * * * Firstly: HOORAY! Well done Regional Victoria. Now we're at Step 3 out of lockdown. However, that doesn't mean that The Q Train is going to be opening up straight away. We have lots of things to consider, not least how to make social distancing measure work in a carriage that is 2.5 meters wide! ... We hope to reopen under the COVID Normal restrictions, it is unlikely to be before then. Once we know more about what that will look like, then we can make our decisions. We know this is disappointing (for us too!) but we're got to be safe. We're not taking any bookings at the moment, because we just don't know when we can reopen. We appreciate your patience as we wait on clarity of what COVID normal will look like. In the meantime, GO OUT FOR DINNER! Go to your local favourites and order that pasta, pizza or steak from your local that you've been missing. Where is your first post-lockdown meal going to be?

21.01.2022 * * * 7.30 * * * It's no secret that 2020 hasn't been a banner year for The Q Train. As luck would have it, 7.30 shared this story on what happens to be our 3rd birthday. We wish we could be celebrating with a special service this weekend, but alas. Here we are instead.... We'll keep you all informed regarding our ropening as soon as we know more about what COVID normal will look like. In the meantime, keep buying local whenever you can! 21.01.2022 * * * SECOND BEST TRAIN * * * We've conceded that for the month of December, we'll agree to being the second best looking train in the region. Have you been to the Christmas Festival of Lights at Adventure Park Geelong, Victoria? A few of us went last night, and it's just fantastic. Locals - please go out and supporting our local tourism attractions. Visit Geelong and The Bellarine have got a fantastic list of local must sees. They need your support more than ever after our annus horribilis.

14.01.2022 * * * PIVOT * * * Much of the national discussion on business survival during COVID-19 has been around 'pivotting'. For tourism businesses, that isn't an easy option. In person experience is a what we're about. But we've pivotted behind the scenes. Take this champion here for example. First Class passengers have been greeted by Jayden as their butler, and now he is proving that he is a man of many hidden talents by helping us out with maintenance. He has been invaluable during COVID, and we can't thank him enough.

12.01.2022 * * * PELICAN BAR * * * We told you we had a few secrets to share, and this one is an awesome one! We're so excited to be working with the LEGENDS at Queenscliff Music Festival to bring The Pelican Bar to Queenscliff this summer.

11.01.2022 * * * OFF SHE GOES * * * It seems like 100 years ago when we first brought 3620 down from Cairns. But it was only 7 months ago, apparently. In those 7 months our team have worked tirelessly on her, and today she took to the rails for the first time in years.

10.01.2022 * * * VALE COLIN "JACKO" JACKSON * * * Today too few of us farewelled an old treasure from The Bellarine Railway, Colin Jackson. Due to COVID restrictions, what should have been a full service was limited to 10 people. Our Marketing Manager, and longtime friend of Jacko, Emma was fortunate enough to attend the service today. The Q Train staff and guests fondly remember Jacko as the Drysdale Railway station master, ringing his bell to allow the train to depart and opening his museum for guests to immerse themselves in the history of railway times gone by. Jacko was the longest serving volunteer of The Bellarine Railway, and The Q Train team will miss him and his stories. Instead of lighting up the station, we look forward to seeing your star in the sky. It's not over until the old bell rings!

Today is our first day back in the kitchen, and how amazing is it that our first day back falls on Victoria's Triple Zero Day? 0 new cases, 0 deaths and 0 active cases. Thank you for your sacrifices Victoria. Well done! ... PS - have you booked for The Pelican Bar yet? Hurry!!

They have been eased, but the density quotient is still to high for us to be able to open. We have a couple of exciting announcements to make over the next couple of weeks, and this photo is a hint for one of those announcements. Any guesses?

She's currently 'observing' the view of Swan Bay; the same view that those lucky attendees of The Pelican Bar will be looking at next week. We can't wait until she's observing the views along the Bellarine Railway...

01.01.2022 Have you seen 3620 out and about today? She's been making the journey along the Bellarine Railway as part of the testing she needs to go through. We are SO EXCITED to annouce our reopening plans - we are so close! Just needing to dot the 'i's and cross the 't's and waiting on a couple of other organisations to get back to us to confirm it all. But it's close, sooooooooo close.
