22.01.2022 This Friday 23/10/20 is another one of 'Dopey Dan's" stuff ups.....Grand Final Public Holiday. As if Victorians need another day off work..?? Because of costs associated with running a hospitality business on a public holiday..we won't be doing any meals. We will be opening at 2pm for drinks as usual... We are still under rather severe restrictions here in regional Victoria...We at the Railway Hotel are lucky as we have 3 rooms available for use which means we can now have ...10 people 'seated' in each room.... 10 in the bar......10 in the front dining room....10 in the middle dining room...70 outside in the beer garden or verandah area. I feel for other pubs in the area with only 2 rooms....nothing has changed with Daniel's restrictions...they are still limited to only 20 customers inside. Nothing has changed. Thanks Daniel...You arrogant fool.

22.01.2022 Sue and I wish to thank all our friends/patrons/customers for the support we've received since being able to 're-open' the doors last week. We have been severely restricted in our industry, being limited to 10 seated people in 2 rooms only and up to 50 seated outdoors. The weather has been a little bit against us these last few days with our outdoor areas...hopefully our beautiful Spring time weather will really kick in and more people can sit outside in the beer garden unde...r the big oak tree. Hopefully, these ridiculous, unreasonable COVID restrictions will be further eased as soon as possible. The AHA (Vic) is pushing the Vic Govt to consider greater flexibility for the Hospitality Industry restart guidelines., especially for those of us in regional Victoria. We thank you all for your consideration and patience whilst we try our best to cater to all....It is bloody hard work. We started our meals last Friday and Saturday for dinner. All went well. Our opening hours will be: Mon/Tue... CLOSED Wed/Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun...OPEN at 2pm. At this stage, DINNER will be available 6 - 8 pm Wed/Thu/Fri/ Sat Due to limited numbers because of the restrictions, bookings for DINNER are preferred to try to avoid disappointments... Again, thanks to all for your loyalty, friendship and support...It really is appreciated. Greg & Sue...Railway Hotel.

21.01.2022 G,day all.....1st November...into our 7th week since re opening. Obviously we are still under restrictions...we are managing to the best of our ability to comply with the restrictions, with thanks to our loyal patrons and friends. "Thank you all for your patience and understanding."... We are currently able to have 10 seated customers in each of our seperate areas...We are lucky to be able to accommodate 40 seated indoors with the areas available to us. We are also able to accommodate up to 70 seated outdoors in the beer garden and front verandah areas (subject to social distancing rules)....and also if the weather is being kind to us. We are unable to allow visitors from Melbourne....Please , don't be offended if we ask for identification...We hate doing it as much as those being asked. PLEASE...if you aren't from regional Victoria, don't try to bend or break the rules. We are opening on Tuesday...Melbourne Cup Day....will be open 12 midday.....Please be aware of our COVID requirements. We are running sweeps on the day...We have $10...$5...$2...sweeps. Also, please be aware, we no longer have TAB at our pub. We do have the races available on our TV screens inside and out in the beer garden for viewing. Thanks to all for your support...it really is appreciated.

11.01.2022 Hi all...At last the opportunity to re open has come along......about bloody time. Sue and I have been working hard with the very short notice to finish off all the work we've been doing on the old pub and we've been cleaning up so that we can welcome our loyal friends and customers back to The Rails..... We HOPE to be open on Saturday arvo...for drinks only...We will have to take 'baby steps' for a very short time in order to get back on deck properly. We hope to have meal...s available about a week or so after we open. Bookings will be essential. Please remember, we are still operating under COVID restrictions and we are limited to maximum of 10 seated in the bar...and...10 seated in the front dining room...and... we are able to have 50 seated in the beer garden. Please don't be angry if we have to ask you to wait due to maximum numbers allowed. Please believe me, we will be more disappointed and hurting than you if we have to say NO.... Drinks are able to be ordered at the bar..collected at the bar..and you must return to your seat. Remember your face masks....( we have to wear the 'effing' things too ).... We have a COVIDSAFE customer registration system which you must use on entry by scanning a QR code with your mobile phone camera. You will have to provide your details on your phone when prompted by this system. We are available to help if required. We are going to try and comply to the very best of our ability in order to Keep Victoria Open...we can't do this without your help, understanding and co operation. Lets hope we can get back to 'normal' asap. We have been closed since the 23/03/20 and Sue and I are absolutely busting to be able to re open. We have missed all our loyal customers and friends and are sooo looking forward to catching up again. Anyways...enough said. We hope to see you all soon.. Best wishes to all, Sue and Greg.

04.01.2022 Hi all.....A bit of an update re our COVID trading. Nothing really has changed here in regional since metro Melbourne has been 'opened up'. We are able to currently have 10 seated patrons in each of our seperate areas. We have an 'under the roof' capacity of 40 seated inside. We can cater for up to 70 seated outside in our beer garden...and...under the verandahs.... It is a requirement that all customers sign in or register with our QR code reader with your name and contact telephone number. Our meals are available (for dinner only)....Wed to Sat 6pm to 8pm. Under the current situation, bookings are essential. Walk ins may possibly be catered for.....but please don't be disappointed if we aren't able to look after you. Again, thank you to all for your support here at the pub. It is really appreciated. Lets keep Australia safe and work towards opening up properly and getting back on track.
