20.01.2022 Did you know that weighted blankets can act as a natural aid to help calm your mind, reduce stress and improve your sleep? For years now, therapists have been using weighted blankets to help patients relax, provide relief and improve calmness & relaxation. When we use a weighted Therapy Blanket, it delivers 'deep touch pressure' to the body, which mimics the feeling of being hugged or swaddled. Research has shown that this is a very effective stimulus, helping you to feel s...afe & secure. With more and more studies showing their effectiveness in decreasing stress & improving calmness, it's no wonder that the Therapy Blanket is quickly becoming a household staple in homes across the nation. ---------------------------- Learn more at www.therapyblanket.com.au

11.01.2022 Therapy is a proud advocate of World Suicide Prevention Day. This year, World Suicide Prevention Day is September 10th.. If you see any of the warning signs in a loved one - take a minute to talk.. and you could change a life. Here are 4 things we can all take to make a difference when it comes to stopping suicide. 1. Remove the stigma... No person in a suicidal state or struggling with mental health issues should have to feel silenced or ashamed. Too often, people are afraid to bring up the subject of suicide, fearing that theyll be wrong or put the idea in someones head. This is a big misconception. People need to talk about suicide and open the doors of communication to those suffering with suicidal thoughts. These individuals need to know that they are not alone, and that there is an entire community who is there, who can relate, and who will support them in the hardest of times. 2. Learn the warning signs Warning signs can include disturbed sleep patters, anxiety, agitation, pulling away from friends & family, feeling like they don't belong, hopelessness, increased use of drugs and alcohol and risk taking behaviour. If you see the warning signs - take a minute to reach and talk to the person. 3. Learn how to reach out and connect In a situation where a persons life is at stake, it is better to do too much than not enough. Help identify the personal strengths and opportunities that might orient him or her toward life. How did he or she solve serious problems previously? Be ready to speak for the side of them that wants to live. 4. Know the resources Lifeline Australia - 13 11 14. They're available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - From the team at Therapy <3
