25.01.2022 Myofacial Therapy Two appointments available for Saturday the 3rd of September! Would you like to experience a ‘Myofacial' treatment? A 'Myofacial' treatment addresses the myofacial anatomy lines, a concept developed by Tom Myers, that span the entire body. Postural stress, injuries or repetitive strain can disturb the structures and interrelated harmony of those facial anatomy lines. This usually means stiffness, restriction and pain somewhere in the body. ... A myofacial treatment has various modes of applications to help restoring those anatomy lines. For example: 1. Cupping technique 2. Direct manual soft tissue technique 3. Facial stretching The aim of those techniques is to manually stretch the connective tissue, to create a wave, and ultimately a change within the restricted tissue. What does that mean to you? It means less tension and pain; increased mobility and flexibility; and a greater range of motion in your joints. If you are currently struggling with pain in your neck, shoulders, or lower back then consider a myofascial treatment and contact www.therapyjunction.com.au Regards. Stefanie Schiffner

12.01.2022 The importance of fascia! More and more you will come across the term of fascia or fascial injuries. But what is fascia? Fascia is connective-tissue that surrounds the entire muscular and skeletal system of the body. New research shows that fascia is 10 x more innervated with sensory nerve endings than muscles (Thomas Myers, 2011) Can we actually see fascia? Yes, the facial web can be seen 25 x magnified. This is the link to be fascinated by fascia:https://www.youtube.com/wa...tch?v=uzy8-wQzQMY Regards. Stefanie Schiffner www.therapyjunction.com.au 0404 458 389

12.01.2022 Animals do it- it's part of their nature and we should do it too, STRETCHING! Stretching releases tension and stiffness in the tissues, makes them elastic and playable. Keep the joints moving, muscles limber and helps preventing aches and pains. Yoga is an amazing tool to look after your body. You are not only stretching and strengthening your muscles, but also training physical and emotional balance. I would like to invite you to a FREE yoga session on Tuesday the 4th of October, the 1st of November 2016 and the 6th of December. 05.01.2022 Melt the Fuzz! If you are a person that wants to learn more about your body than stay with me on this topic. Fuzz, or fuzz fibers are a form of filmy fascia (matrix) in traction. During the night there is a build up of fuzz between the sliding surfaces of our musculature. The build of fuzz reduces mobility and flexibility withing the body. How do we know what fuzz feels like? This can be simply explained. When you wake up in the morning you feel restrictions and tightness, t...hat's the build up of fuzz fibers within your body. The build of fuzz happens every night and can significantly impact on your joint mobility and flexibility. Unless you melt the fuzz with something as simple as stretching. This is a great opportunity to mention the benefits of yoga in relation to melting the 'fuzz' out of your body! Fuzz and time work strongly together. For example; the nightly build up of fuzz may not bother you, but imagine, if you don't move and stretch how much fuzz is building up in time? Over time you notice that you have restrictions hat impact on your daily life. Your shoulders, neck, or lower back are feeling sore and tender. You keep ignoring and adapting to the sensations, until you are in pain. At this point you are looking for options that can help reducing your pain. One option is to look for someone that can reduce the fuzz, can free your movements, and re-establish your flexibility and strength. You could check with your health fund for practitioners that work in the field of Myotherapy, Musculoskeletal, or Rolfing Therapy...etc. Those modalities provide a great understanding about facial restriction and how to melt fuzz (filmy fascia). However, you need to know that the best medicine is to understand how your body functions. I only gave you a tiny insight on a huge topic that is still in baby shoes. But the given research about fascia and fuzz is clearly fascinating. The best thing to address fuzz is to look after your body by stretching on a regular basis. I can assure you that yoga is a great option to address fuzz. In my case I am happy to help with therapy and stretching. I welcome you to join me on Tuesday nights for a yoga class. You find my details on www.therapyjunction.com.au Thank you for taking the time to stay with me. Stefanie
