17.01.2022 Air Puff Number Match! Ages 3+ Kysen was so excited when he realized the dish soap bottle could make the bottle tops move. He had to match the number on the bot...tle top to the same amount of dots. He was working his fine motors by squeezing the bottle. This activity also incorporated science when he figured out that the harder he squeezed the bottle the farther the bottle top slides and the angle he squeezed the bottle at made the bottle top go in different directions. You could also do this activity with letter matching. Full Details: https://learnasyouplay.net///air-puff-number-match-ages-3/

She qualified from Trinity College, Ireland in 2002 with a Master of Science in Counselling Psychology. Since then she has continued to develop her knowledge and expertise by working across a number of health sectors including Child Psychology, Adolescent and Family Psychology, Adult Primary Care, Disability Services... and Child Protection. 07.01.2022 UPDATE EFFECTIVE 24TH MARCH 2020 TLC-WA took the difficult decision to close all face to face appointments for our clients from Tuesday 24th March 2020. This difficult decision was made in order to protect the health of our therapists, our clients and the wider community. All ongoing therapy will be provided via Telehealth for the foreseeable future. Those clients that have participated in Telehealth appointments this week found the new service delivery model, whilst differen...t, was definitely beneficial. All our therapists will be contacting their clients asap by telephone to provide further information. The NDIA have approved the use of funds for Telehealth appointments. Please follow the link for further information for participants https://www.ndis.gov.au/c/participants-coronavirus-covid-19 We are awaiting further information from Medicare and private health funds regarding rebates. For those clients with a Mental Health Care Plan for psychology services, will be able to access Telehealth appointments from Monday 30th March 2020. Those sessions will be bulk billed. Please call us on (08) 9301 1154 if you would like to access psychology services via Telehealth. We continue to await news for Telehealth rebates becoming available for speech pathology, occupational therapy and physiotherapy. We will update information as soon as it becomes available. Please be reassured that we will continue to support and provide services for all our clients during these difficult and challenging times. If you have any questions please either email [email protected] or call us on (08) 9301 1154 and please leave a message. We will respond to all enquiries as soon as possible. Keep your distance, stay safe, stay well and we will all get through this together. With best wishes Diana Chivers Director

01.01.2022 Check out OT Malanie's Top Tips for getting through isolation: Your main goal should be to instill calm and peace into the day to day; stress less. Kids do not learn when they are stressed and in these troubled times they will surely know somethings causing a lot of fear and angst amongst us all. Keep things simple; go with your kiddos interests and expand on these. There are so many activity ideas going around, so have a think about your childs goals and needs, and... go from there. Involve them in choosing activities to try as well. You do not have to feel like you have to entertain your kiddos all day long. Independent play is great for building attention and self-motivation skills. Keep in mind that kids do not learn well if they are stressed, so dial it back, simplify but solidify their day to day routine (visuals can be used), and involve them in daily chores or household tasks. Extracurricular tasks that are now restricted, try to replicate at home/ do it in the community away from others (parks, ocean) Work on foundational skills first; emotional regulation, hand strength, basic shapes, midline crossing, reflexes, body strength/ core. Regulation: provide support for sensory needs with heavy work and lots of sensory play. Encourage independence as much as possible; get him to do chores/ assist with even small things (putting detergent in dishwasher or washing machine). Get off screens when possible but use them as rewards and educational tools. Replicate activities that your kiddo has enjoyed during therapy, along with visual supports. Expect little productivity from this time, embrace the chaos, take it day by day. See more

01.01.2022 We love the idea of a calming glitter bottle, see below for how to make it!
