22.01.2022 I simply love this quote from John Lennon

19.01.2022 When R U Okay first came to fruition, I absolutely loved it. However, as the years passed us by, I remember thinking (and seeing) people struggling what next to say. I found this was one thing that prevented some from asking this very important question. QFES have nailed it! Three simple responses to not, I’m not’. Another I like to use is I’m sorry to hear that. What’s been happening!’ ..... and away you go! Another common response that I hear from those asking is ‘Y...es that happened to me too’ and launch into their own story, with a sense of embellishment dare I say. Whilst the enquirer feels that they are helping, what they have actually done is made the individual is take away this space from the individual and made it about him/her. Here, the concept has failed. So watch out for this and bite your tongue if you are so compelled! What we ought to remember is, the fact that even though you may not know what to say next, the most important thing is just to ‘BE’ with the other person. When does this individual ever have a chance to speak, without interruption, is with someone who has bothered to ask, and sit with him in total empathy? I know this is actually a very difficult thing to do, most of us want to simply fix it, but this is not what the individual needs right there and then. So off you go! Today, I challenge you to approach three people around you, even if you’re working from home, ask family members, at or someone in a zoom conversation. Give it ago, you really could just save someone’s life. I’d love to hear how you felt. Feel free to post in your comments and I hope you are all really okay today!
18.01.2022 I simply love The Mighty check it out. https://themighty.com/

14.01.2022 The Black Dog was the name Winston Churchill gave his deep depressive episodes. Remember your intonation when ask R U Okay. Us humans pick up even the slightest melodic change in a phase so it allows us to recognise a threat before we even know it. But follow it through also and yes, it can feel awkward, but The Black Dog has got it sorted for us. Note the open ended questions.
13.01.2022 Such an excellent way to teach kids an important life skill! A must view. Please like and share to all your family and friends. https://www.linkedin.com//georgebooty_covid-corona-activit

09.01.2022 Using a rainy day as an opportunity to clean my office, I stumbled on this poem called The Shadow by R.L. Stevenson. I distinctly remember learning this at school. I didnt have a full understanding of depression back then. I love it as its fill with so much hope and reassurance.
09.01.2022 A question I am frequently asked in therapy Should I tell my employer I am depressed? Check out the advice from Beyond Blue......
06.01.2022 I love this. A reminder to me that we are part of a bigger plan and its not always about me.

01.01.2022 Music is great therapy. It makes us experience every emotion possible. It certainly does for myself. I felt so comforted when I listened to Abbey, my niece in law. She is a wonderful soprano living in Dublin, My hometown. I hope it lifts your heart and spirit during these difficult times.... https://www.facebook.com/riamdublin/videos/690406461524395/
