23.01.2022 This young man came with his Mum to have a lesson on how to use The Reed Tool.... I meant to take a video of a before and after but I didn't have my camera set to video .... anyway, his smile in the second shot says it all. :)

22.01.2022 I love the reed tool! I have spent a fortune on tenor sax, soprano sax and clarinet reeds in the past 6 months and I was particularly despairing because at $8.50 a pop, more than 50% of the tenor reeds I was buying were duds. They were a top brand, but these reeds would squeak, feel horrible in the mouth or just make playing hard work. I couldnt afford to keep buying more boxes only to find a couple of good ones in each box but Peter showed me how to use the reed tool... and all of a sudden there is no such thing as a dud reed! I have also used them for Eb clarinet reeds, and I cant believe how much error there can be in the flatness of even a very small reed like this but all easily fixed with the reed tool. My best experience was that I had kept an old Alexandre Superiale from my time playing an A clarinet. I pulled it out recently to play on my Bb and I couldnt work out why I had ever liked it. It sounded and felt AWFUL. But I grabbed out the reed tool, saw that the reed was very convex and proceeded to deal with it. Next thing I know, this TWENTY year old reed is just fabulous! Unless you have split the reed or its gone mouldy, theres no need to throw out a reed ever again. Great work Peter! Nicole Hargreaves - Musician
