09.01.2022 I have been an Aboriginal Artist for nearly four years. I have lived in Toownsville for 30 yrs with my partner Richard and my seven children. I lost one child at birth. Iam originally from Darwin. My Paintings are dedicated to my mother's tribe, the Marramaninjsji near Daly River, south of Darwin. My father is the reason why I have started to paint He passed away 4 1/2 yrs ago. His passing has mad...e me realize how important my culture is to me and my children. Through my pa...inting I am able to make a connection with my culture for my children. My paintings show the Animal Spirits of the Dreamtime and the colours and terrain of the outback. Iam able to depict the landscape of my country as I see and feel it. I paint what Iknow and have experienced. My art links me with my land and its animal spirits. The long neck turtle is my Dreaming and was given to me by my mothe and father when they were hunting. I've given each of my children their Dreaming of their animal spirit, the dingo, possum, owl, snake, kookaburra, curloo and foanna. These animals feature prominently in my paintings along with the native fauna of my birthplace. My Paintings come to life as I paint my story on canvas.
