23.01.2022 The problem with letterboxing, besides sore feet, is that I want to live IN EVERY SUBURB in Kurrajong! I love living in my suburb O'Connor. But then I go to Lyneham - and I want to live there! And then I go to Turner - and I want to live there! And then I go to Kingston - and I want to live there! And then off to Ainslie, Hackett, Dickson, Campbell, Braddon... and so on. I want to live in all of those places! However, living in Kurrajong can be lovely for most - but not for all. Let's Demand Better and make things good for all of us. Vote 1 Therese Faulkner for Kurrajong
21.01.2022 Canberra - my home, my memories, my family, my friends. Canberra - the cool capital. Canberra - magpies wardling, kookaburras cackling, cockatoos squarking, bluebells blooming. Canberra - home to the magnificent Canberra Raiders since 1982. Canberra - from no lakes to several, from old brown buses to green ones and a shiny red tram. Let's protect and progress the magnificence that is our city. If elected, I promise to make progress happen with principles - #ethics #evidenc...e #empowerment. #DemandBetter Vote 1 - Therese Faulkner for Kurrajong
20.01.2022 Enough whinging about #buses and #trams! I love Canberra’s #publictransport network. Sure it could be improved - but a big shout out to the people and systems that make it work, and a big tick to the Canberra Progressives for our excellent policy approach to active and public transport. Here’s me catching the bus into the city to go to the hairdresser this morning Vote 1 - Therese Faulkner, Canberra Progressives Candidate for Kurrajong.
19.01.2022 Some wise words from my colleague Robert Knight I believe in this philosophy. Cities are for people, and we should be creating places where we can be 8, or 80 and still be safe to walk, scoot, ride a bike, or simply play and not be in danger of getting cleaned up by a driver in a rush. Canberra, we CAN have places like this. All it takes is some political will. #DemandBetter. Vote 1 for Robert Knight.
18.01.2022 Only 3 more voting days! The clock is counting down. Do yourself a favour and #DemandBetter - Vote 1 Canberra Progressives. https://www.facebook.com/CanberraProgressives/posts/1225104164521630?__cft__[0]=AZVVQWJDJ3pGoE0Maduyuavs5nOWwuz6Ukvl2Eeoow0lmVhewbV9SpHBds24ZDfUSzB4DU-KQMQu6MGQaSeoPfVMVtiwldPdhTH7f7bltq92fCQfQ4SHXzR3x0nX1Uj9_hhL4dchSF8Y_Epsg8OQJ8I1HzEAxCqtcjoinpQItslBjeKYQfhyupDRpLkgD63s6DU&__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R

15.01.2022 (And just in case you were wondering - I'm back home again with my nice shiny hair - roots all coloured in, and the scraggy ends trimmed! Oh - and a nice hot cup of #progressive tea!)
14.01.2022 Who wants a better future? What's that I hear? Yes - everyone wants one! Voting #Progressives in the ACT Election, will help to see our policies for a better future become a reality. #DemandBetter Vote 1 Therese Faulkner for Kurrajong https://canberra.progressives.org.au/future
12.01.2022 The Canberra Progressives are a serious party with serious intentions to be a major player in the long term. We're not a 'flash in the pan'. There is a local policy platform for the Canberra Progressives, as well as a national policy platform for the Australian Progressives - which covers many, but not all issues. Where we don't have an existing policy, we are keen to talk to experts, and engage with affected communities, in helping us to consider and shape new policy. See https://www.progressives.org.au/platform and https://canberra.progressives.org.au/platform https://www.progressives.org.au/platform https://www.progressives.org.au/platform
09.01.2022 Some last-minute letterboxing in my progressive purple frock. #progressive #stylish #nearlyfinished
09.01.2022 Imagine what we could achieve if we didn’t care about who takes credit for it? Call me a crazy dreamer, but I hope to see Members of the ACT Legislative Assembly put aside their petty party ideologies and work together to make some great stuff happen for the Canberra community. Vote 1 - Canberra Progressives - and we can make this a reality! #DemandBetter #Progressives #canberra
05.01.2022 How do you figure out who would be your best representative in the ACT Legislative Assembly? Here's an idea - check out https://act.smartvote.org/en/home and see who is your perfect match! Your views on certain issues are matched with those of candidates who have answered the questions previously. It is a pretty smart way to vote.
04.01.2022 Don't forget - whoever you put down as your #1 preference on the ballot paper stands to receive your $8.62, if that party or independent candidate gets more than 4% of first preference votes. (And this money adds up. From the 2016 election, Labor and Liberal received more than $900,000 each in public funding. No wonder they can afford so many multiple corflutes and multiple pamphlets!) Think seriously about your #1 vote and where your $8.62 might be wisely spent. Mine will be spent on voting 1 - Canberra Progressives!
02.01.2022 I'm Therese Faulkner, Canberra Progressives candidate for the ACT electorate of Kurrajong. I’m a mother of three, grandmother of three, and happily married to my second husband, who has two kids who live with us half the time. I have been in the workforce for 37 years a public servant for 30 years (mostly AusAID/DFAT) and now work in a Project Director role in the private sector here in Canberra. I would love to represent the people of Kurrajong as a member of the Progressi...ves. Why? Three reasons: 1. We need a good cross-bench. The ACT Legislative Assembly comprises 12 Labor, 2 Greens (who form Government with Labor) and 11 Liberal members. That's it. With a good cross-bench we can hold the government to account, and enter into useful debate without it all being 'oppositional' in nature. 2. Experience beyond politics. l have professional and life experience spanning a broad range, which would serve me well as a member of the legislative assembly. 3. Values. The Canberra Progressives will bring Ethics, Evidence and Empowerment to the Assembly, for the benefit of the ACT community. I’d love your support any comments or questions are very welcome! #DemandBetter! Vote 1 - Therese Faulkner for Kurrajong
