24.01.2022 Follow-up contact post-interview tips of the day: - spell their name correctly (my goodness make sure you spell their name correctly) - understand your potential employer is busy. In the private sector, roles generally only come about due to increased work which they are at that present moment handling with their current resources - we are all in the grips of a pandemic, the market is disrupted. Employers are rolling with the punches, just like you... - don't be negative! The recruitment process is not over and this could be your chance to make it or break it. Be negative, and you break it - don't offer advice on their recruitment process if you feel unsatisfied-- "eg. Please reflect on your hiring processes..", the employer is offering the opportunity you want to access, and it will close you off from any potential opportunities in the future - understand that if you don't get the role now, it might come later. Leave your bridges unburnt - remember that it's a small world. Your choice to be negative at this stage will be remembered by the people absorbing your negativity if you choose to put it out there - remember that the person reading your follow up is a real human. How would you feel reading what you've sent in a follow up? Positive, negative, offended? That person may not stay in their role forever, of course. But everyone remembers a negative person The recruitment process isn't over until you make it so, you find something else or you receive concrete confirmation that you were not successful.
