25.01.2022 With four weeks to Christmas Day the focus is on having your store looking its absolute best every moment of the day. Process new arriving stock in the quieter moments, as quickly as possible, keeping the boxes out of customers way. Constantly restock from reserve and have the racks looking full but neat and square with all styles on display. Remember, it cant sell if it cant be seen.

25.01.2022 Three weeks to Christmas and you have now identified the best sellers amongst your offer. Focus on keeping in stock of these best sellers but also use the pre-Christmas push to reduce the slow movers. Identify items that have been very slow to sell and reduce them specifically to use the cash returns to invest in reorders of your fast selling items. Keep that stock turning.

11.01.2022 As we start the new year with new stock arrivals, my mind goes back to the night before we opened our first store. We worked until three in the morning ironing and displaying our stock, enthusiastic and hopeful but all the time wondering if anyone was actually going to buy anything from us. Would people like our stock? We had no experience of ranging, pricing, gross margin or final margin. We thought we were filling a gap in the market and we sure hoped the market felt the same way. We had no concept of how much we would learn over the next thirty years.

08.01.2022 How do you reopen and mobilise your retail stores for a healthy and safe future? Remember, your customers are watching to see who they can trust to have their interests and safety at heart. Here are some suggestions to consider; Social Distancing-Separate exit and entry and reduce customer numbers when necessary. Add Social Distancing reminder signage around your store to show you care.... Sanitiser at the entrance and exit of your store. Create space by adjusting fixture locations and removing excess stock. Offer gloves and wipes Daily Staff wellness checks. Reduce friction by expanding Online Pick-Up and Delivery options to customers. More frequent cleaning of store. Close some or all fitting rooms New return procedures-Keep clothing stock off shelves for 24 hours.
