02.01.2022 The Retreat is a modern custom- designed beach house with absolute water front access to one of Tasmania’s most picturesque and pristine beaches. With large windows to take in the amazing views, and a huge deck that feels as if it almost floats above the beach below, The Retreat is the perfect place to enjoy some time out, a romantic weekend or a memory-making break with the family. Sit back and enjoy a relaxing coffee or glass of wine in the stylishly appointed open plan liv...ing area as you watch the boats pass by, or wander down from the deck to enjoy a leisurely walk along the sheltered, family-friendly beach and explore the nearby rock pools. Dennes Point is a quiet seaside community at the northern end of iconic Bruny Island, which is a short ferry ride from the mainland of Tasmania, and home to some of the world’s best produce (including berries, cheese, beer, wine, whisky, and oysters). The Space Entry through the front door takes you into a Tas Oak lined breezeway, with amazing views over the channel to the mountains beyond. On one end of the breezeway lies the modern, sun drenched, open plan living and kitchen space and one of the bedrooms. At the other end you’ll find the contemporary bathroom and two further bedrooms, including the main bedroom with views directly onto the beach below. The house has three bedrooms, two with queen beds and the third with two singles, and comfortably sleeps five. All linen and towels are provided, and a portable cot and mattress is also available (under two’s stay free in their own bedding). The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering with some basic pantry items (including olive oil, vinegar, flour, sugar, tea and coffee), an island bench with stools and a high chair, a modern fridge, microwave, oven, cook top, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, cutlery, crockery, wineglasses and a range of cookware. The living area contains two couches, a coffee table, a TV with a built in DVD player, and a reverse cycle air conditioning unit to ensure a comfortable temperature all year round. A library of DVD’s is also available for your enjoyment. The modern bathroom includes a walk in shower, vanity, toilet and European style laundry with a washing machine. A table and bench seats on the deck encourages laid back outdoor dining, and the adjacent entertainment area (with a large fire pot and rustic log seating) is the perfect spot to enjoy the cooler evenings. A gas BBQ is also available. Other Notes Although some basic pantry items are provided, we would recommend that you stock up before you head over to the island, as the nearby Jetty Cafe only carries limited supplies and the nearest grocery store is a 45m drive away at the southern end of the island. Given the open nature of the block and abundant wildlife in the area, no pets are allowed.
