23.01.2022 VILLAGE LIFESTYLE AWAY FROM THE CITY RUSH Tired of your present pace and looking for a more relaxed way of living? Reluctantly we are putting "The Rio" on the market. ... For those seeking to escape the city rush for a more relaxed lifestyle with an opportunity to drive your dollars further, this property may just be for you. The owners work from home, use the magnificently restored picture theatre for special events and provide accommodation with three unique apartments. It’s a chance to be your own boss with income limited only by your imagination. For tradies there are three new sub-divisions & homes being built. For artists this magnificently restored theatre offers a unique venue and zoned residential/ commercial - in the heart of town -it lends itself to theatre, cafe or retail possibilities. For families there are excellent schools in a safe, friendly community. AND for retiree its a home plus income. The Rio is a landmark property within an hours drive of three cities: Wagga Wagga, Albury Wodonga on the NSW/Victorian border and Narrandera on the Newell highway.

08.01.2022 This photo of the main street of Lockhart is taken from the huge balcony of the LOFT apartment. It shows the verandah town pictured by day and by night. An arts trail of award winning sculptures, created from recycled farm materials are a feature of the township as seen with Rain Dragon by Andrew Whitehead and Horse by Stuart Taylor. The town has two schools including high school, five banks, a medical centre ( with two doctors), hospital, hospice, clubs, cafes and service organisations i.e. Lions, Rotary as well as an active community & sporting clubs.

03.01.2022 The Rio theatre has been beautifully restored with its hand painted ceilings and wall friezes. Built in 1935 by a Greek migrant -Nick Laurentus- who was later honoured with a knighthood, the theatre can accommodate some 300 people. The back wall of the stage is a movie screen and excellent acoustics and stage make this a perfect venue for entertainment. A servery has been added to cater for functions and on warmer nights, double doors open into the gardens..
