24.01.2022 After a busy weekend catch up with the friends everyone in our house needs a early night. So nothing better than a minestrone soup and some fresh bread *we got to use up all the sad looking veggies up ... *soup took about 40 minutes start to finish (half a hour cooking time) *veggies, pasta, bacon and water that’s it Always a hit and great for these cold winter days.

19.01.2022 Bechamel sauce also know as white sauce Do you like it nice and thick or runny? When making it for things such as a sauce for fish or cauliflower cheese I make it thick. I like it slightly runnier when making it for lasagna ... I use the Cookidoo recipe and double the flour and butter at the start if I want it thicker Video is with double butter and flour, I keep everything else exactly the same

11.01.2022 Who hates dishes? .... Tonight I made this All-In-One Chicken Dinner from The Healthy Mix cookbook. It was super quick, easy and best of all it cooked everything at once with out the need for a million pots and pans. Sweet potato mash, Chicken fillets (coated in Mexican seasoning) green beans and corn, plus a gravy which started as the steaming liquid ... Who else loves multi layered cooking?

05.01.2022 Hubby and I are on a low carb journey at the moment... so no bread I made this loaf on Monday, it started out being a heap of nuts and seed and I milled it down and made this delicious loaf. As you can see from Nate’s reaction and bite marks it smelt amazing and defiantly hits the spot when you feel like something extra to go with a meal or to have some poached eggs on ... This recipe came out of Thermo Foodie and the Chef cookbook - Simply Planned and is called Mego Bread Loaf.

05.01.2022 Friday night in our house is always pizza night, so tonight as I’m feeding a few more mouths (workmen) I though I would also make a garlic bread as well. I used the garlic and herb pull apart from the basic cookbook and just did small ones in a muffin tray. Now it’s super easy to just grab one or two and send our with the pizzas ... Great option if you don’t want everyone touching and sharing food

Pumpkin soup for lunch ... What’s something you use regularly that you could replace with a home made version?
