24.01.2022 AERA TIME CHANGE! The 40km and 20km ride on the Saturday will now start at 1pm (not 11am). This has been done to allow people more time to arrive. We are aiming for the pre ride talk for the Sunday rides between 4-5pm on the Saturday to allow people to get some rest before the midnight start. If you are riding both days and will not have finished your ride please make sure you have someone go to the talk for you.

23.01.2022 Rule 801.8.3 All Horses must remain at all times to be capable of being clearly observed by FEI Veterinary Officials and/or, Ground Jury and/or Stewards. No screens, no equipment or barrier of any kind may be used to prevent such observation under penalty of disqualification and a Yellow Card Warning. An area will be set up on the ride base (near the vetting area) for FEI horses to be held during the hold time. Riders/crew will be able to set this up with yards/shelters/gear/feed as required. AERA horses can also be held in this area. If you have any questions about this rule please ask and we will get an FEI Official to respond.

21.01.2022 FEI RULES Article 815 - ELIGIBILITY 815.1 Any person from the year in which he/she reaches his/her 14th birthday and who is duly authorised by his/her National Federation is eligible to take part in all Endurance Rides (CEIs, CEIOs and Championships Senior and Junior/Young Rider). ... 815.2 Horses: 815.2.1 Horses must be at least 5 years old to qualify as novices. 815.2.2 For CEIs 1-Star through 2-Star Competitions Horses must be at least 6 years old to participate. 815.2.3 For 3-Star Competitions Horses must be at least 7 years old to participate. 815.2.4 For 4-Star, CEIOs and Championships (excluding Young Horse Championships where the minimum age must be 7 years) Horses must be at least 8 years of age. 815.2.5 Mares obviously in advanced pregnancies, meaning over 120 days, or with foal at foot cannot be entered in any CEI Event. 815.2.6 All ages are determined as of the date of the Event for which eligibility to participate is sought, and must be confirmed either through reliable registrations or written Veterinary opinion, which may be recorded within Passports. Horses are deemed to have their birthday on the 1st January.

19.01.2022 Thanks to each and everyone of you for supporting our ride!!! A huge task with so many events to run. So many amazing stories are coming to light now of personal courage and true team spirit. Please feel free to share and pictures with us on here. The people behind the scenes who work tirelessly to make this happen we cant thank enough. Giving up your free time to support these rides is humbling. 19.01.2022 Please ensure that you contact the ride OC if you are planning on bringing a Hendra Unvaccinated horse to The Rock ride from "hot areas" We can then discuss in person how this will be managed. Please bare in mind that your horse will have to be kept clear of the "hot areas" for a number of weeks with clear evidence of this. Last year we had no horses unvaccinated from these areas attend Table Top or the Rock Rides so we feel a one on one approach will be far more helpful to everyone rather than opening the usual can of worms on social media. Again the OC and our vets are at hand to advise Do not try and bring an unvaccinated horse in from these areas without prior discussion .... it maybe a long drive for nothing!!!

17.01.2022 A message from Col Lewis AERA ride organiser!! Hello, after much deliberation between hard working committee with a special thanks going to Kim Stevens. (Snowy Zone would be lost with out her). Its official The Rock Endurance club in conjunction with Snowy Zone & Table Top Endurance will be holding the following on the 9th, 10th & 11th June: 160km starting at 12 midnight Saturday. 120km starting at 2am Sunday... 80km starting at 4am Sunday There will be 20/40km available on Saturday afternoon only. Vetting will start on the morning of Saturday morning to have all the horses ready to go before the sun goes down. Pre-ride briefing will hopefully between 4.00pm and 5.00pm Saturday. It will vet gate into hold, but ERA horse will allowed to return camp for strapping. Please be aware there will be FEI held the same weekend but there will a strapping yard near the vetting for FEI horses only. Presentation will be held on Monday morning leaving Monday afternoon to travel home There will be a catering service available all weekend with Boiling Billy food truck on site, the service can supply a hearty evening sit down meals but you MUST call Ivan or Lesley to arrange evening meals 0429 099883 or 0425 740077. Try Booking is currently being set up and will be official open on the 4th May for nominations. I received a call for D-Lua Park saddle clothes, they have kindly jumped on board to the sponsor the 160km ERA ride with saddle clothes for fittest horse and a gift to all entered horses. D- Lua Park Saddle Clothes nothing could be finer. Its going to be a great weekend hope to see you all there.

11.01.2022 Just few notes: we will accept horses on the weekend, nominations are not required. If you decided at some point later this week your coming to The Rock, you and your horse are more than welcome, no late fee. I do not have time to accommodated riders out on track with refreshments at each check point, could each rider please note that you are carry own refreshments/water out on course.... Drivers, as you enter the ride base. You will enter a small paddock, follow the track to the right and then enter a second paddock, there lots n lots room out behind the pavilion for camping with lots of water points. Please no parking in the first smaller paddock we need this clear as possible. If you would like to arrive a little earlier, I will be camping all week at the ride base so you can join me anytime. 06.01.2022 2 days until ride base opens!!! We are looking at over 100 horses for the weekend so please be mindful when setting up camp. The generous landowner has just recently sown the outside of the camping area to hopefully benefit from fridays forecast rain. This will reduce the area for camping. Col will be at hand to assist with parking

05.01.2022 Busy day at ride base for A & A Kettlewell setting up the vet gate, clearing yards and sheds to build vet hospital ( plus evacuating a brown snake ) 5 OSO horses went for a 50km training ride then helped with a walk through to gage space needed. Lots of trotting up and down to see if anyone crashes! Luckily not! Their feed back on the track ....very very flat!... A few film clips to show the grounds... its been very dry and there is zero pick for horses. Ensure you come well prepared!!!
