21.01.2022 RGS students have been in the closing stages of training for their final Certificate II Outdoor Recreation expedition for 2021 - sea kayaking off the Capricorn Coast! Leaving from the beach at Ritamada this coming week, the students will embark on a fully self-sufficient 15km crossing to Great Keppel Island. The first overnight campsite is Middle Island, where students will snorkel and hike. The group then paddles from Middle Island across the front of Great Keppel Island to ...snorkel at Monkey Beach before pushing on to Humpy Island for a day hike around the spectacular ridge walk and further snorkelling before setting up for the night there. The final day involves a 15km paddle back to Ritamada. The students will be self-sufficient with their food and equipment, cooking their own meals and planning in advance to cover for their energy, nutritional and relaxation needs. Good luck team!
