23.01.2022 For expecting or new mothers...
23.01.2022 One of the biggest factors that lead to marital disatisfaction is the "Mental Load" of the household not being shared evenly. Unfortunately, the research shows that in heterosexual relationships the mental load is still heavily carried by the female partner. This article helps to clearly show how this plays out in relationships and why it is so important to both be co-directors of the household and to equally share the thinking and planning, not just the doing. https://www.workingmother.com/this-comic-perfectly-explains
23.01.2022 Happy 5th birthday to my big beautiful gal The Rosy Room! She has grown up soo much in the last year and I couldn’t be prouder. This last year of business has been the most epic yet. We had a terrible low last September with a huge betrayal from an admin member but from that point we’ve had huuuge growth after cleaning up the mess, getter clearer about our values and vision, feeling stronger and closer as a team, and growing our psychologists team to 11 with our two new psycs... Kaity and Jotham as well as being fortunate enough to have our OG Alyssa return via Telehealth all the way from The Netherlands. I feel so grateful for The Rosy Room who has allowed me to have a job I love going to (almost) everyday and has introduced me to a team of the most beautiful people. A big shout out and eternal gratitude to: Sue who has been my wing woman from day one and now is thriving in her role as Accounts Manager. To our Front Desk and Client Support Team Suné, Kelly, Ellie, Anna and Lc who are dedicated to helping the psychologists’ day run smoothly and to nurturing our clients as best as they can. We really miss Dani but are so proud of her for moving on to her own venture as a counsellor. To our beautiful psychologists Alyssa, Louise, Sarah, Giselle, Linda, Carla, Daniel, Carol, Jotham and Kaity who I know put their heart into each and every one of their clients. To all the GPs in Springfield and across Ipswich and Brisbane who refer to us and trust we will take good care of their patients. And of course to our wonderful clients for your commitment to growth and wellbeing. What a dream! With optimal health, life really can be rosy . . . #therosyroom #springfieldlakes #springfieldpsychologists
20.01.2022 Compassion doesn't mean we don't fight; it means we don't hate.
19.01.2022 When we feel down, it can be helpful reconnecting to the things that we used to find pleasant. It can take time though for this to have an effect on our neural pathways, and in the beginning may feel a bit like this: (Thanks Spilt Milk Psychology for this great imagery )
16.01.2022 A huge congratulations to our psychologist Daniel Brown, who is now Dr Daniel Brown since having his Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology conferred today. What a fantastic achievement Daniel Brown, Psychologist, we are super proud of your efforts and very fortunate to have you on our team.

09.01.2022 To our Rosy Community: For peace of mind, as of yesterday we have transitioned all our therapy sessions to Telehealth. This will remain in place until at least Monday next week. We are watching the recent local Covid-19 situation closely and will continue to keep you informed about when we plan to be back to face to face sessions. Our admin team are still operating our usual hours and happy to answers any questions you have about upcoming sessions.... We hope you are all staying safe and being responsible. If you don’t feel well, stay at home. Let’s support our community to get through this as smoothly as possible
08.01.2022 It's a new month, new season and new chapter here at The Rosy Room. We are more than excited to announce that we have not 1, but 2, fabulous new psychologists joining The Rosy Room on Saturdays and Mondays. Jotham Joubert (or JJ) has a Masters of Clinical Psychology from Bond University. Jotham sees all clients from aged 7 onwards and has extra training in EFT which is a technique particularly helpful for the treatment of trauma. Kaity Mayer, has a Masters of Clinical Psychol...ogy from Bond University. Kaity loves to work with children, adolescents and families as well as with individuals with Asperger’s, on the autism spectrum, learning disorders, and intellectual disability. Both Jotham and Kaity begin on Saturday 13th of June and are taking bookings now. We are so looking forward to having them on our team and bringing our Psychology count at The Rosy Room now to 11!

02.01.2022 To all The Rosy Room new parents
01.01.2022 If you missed it live, here’s a recording of Rosy room director Jessica Edkins leading a Loving Kindness Meditation. This meditation is aimed at helping to foster compassion for self and others. Building compassion is a wonderful skill that allows us to navigate difficult emotions and life challenges in a more skilful way.
