21.01.2022 ENTRIES NOW OPEN | NEW EVENT OPTION! Hi Challengers, Early Bird entry fees are now on offer for the 7th Royal Challenge scheduled for the 4th May 2019.... Joining the Royal Challenge and 5km Community Paddle will be a NEW event - Paddle & Plod. This is open to individuals and consists of a 5km paddle and 5km Run. Once again, RC7 will be raising funds for the Sydney Childrens Hospital. There will be a higher focus on rewarding participants that raise heals of cash for the charity cause we want to crash through $200,000. We have changed the day to a Saturday as we are planning a meltdown and charity auction to follow at the Cronulla RSL. An award will be handed out to the indiviual that tops Mark "Simmo" Simpson's effort at out first meltdown party back in 2011! 20.01.2022 In 2010, the concept of the Royal Challenge was suggested to me by Louise Southwell. After emailing a bunch of mates to say that I'm going to do a 23km ski paddle and 21km run, I got an email back from John Zagame (who was not on my original email) to say he's (then) company Subway Australia would throw in some bucks to sponsor it. Without that offer, the event would not of got to the stage where over $160,000 has been raised by over 600+ competitors since 42 of us took off o...n Feb 2011 (48 degree day :-)) So, John is heading down tomorrow to be our official starter (please bring a whistle John, I don;t have one hahah). 13.01.2022 On the 20th May 2018 a bunch of champions will be sweating it out in the Royal Challenge to raise money for the Sydney Childrens Hospital Foundation The Royal Challenge is a 21km ski paddle and 21km run endurance event within the Royal National Park, Sutherland,and whilst in isolation it may seem challenging it comes nowhere near the challenge some young kids and their families are facing right now. 03.01.2022 The 2018 Royal Challenge was a great success due to our awesome competitors, volunteers and sponsor. The event has now raised over $171,000 since 2011 with last Sundays event contributing another $9,376 to the Sydney Childrens Hospital Foundation. The day and spirit was captured brilliantly once again by Peak Creative.... Enjoy the show (we also have a 3min version with different footage coming soon).
