Two gas safety valves have been urgently recal...led over fears they can cause leaks. The Grillman Gas Safety Shut Off Valve and Grillman Gas Safety Shut Off Valve by Mayo Hardware are sold at major retailers including Mitre 10. Product Safety Australia issued the recall on Tuesday over safety concerns. The tail pipe and main body of the valve may come apart, this may cause the seal at this point to break and allow gas to escape when the valve to the gas cylinder is open, the authority said. The ignition of leaked gas can cause a fire or explosion, resulting in serious injury or death, Product Safety Australia said. Consumers should immediately stop using the products and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund, it said. They can contact Mayo Hardware for further information.
