24.01.2022 Santa's Aircraft

22.01.2022 Cold weather and even snow falling in Canberra this weekend. What better opportunity to spend some more time on the 1/3 Fokker D7 Mercedes D111 dummy engine. I am currently finishing off the CAD drawings for the inlet manifold and printing them. It took a few goes but I am happy with the pipe work. Its going to be great fun adding all the spark plug leads and weathering the engine when I have drawn and made all the parts. I also started on the machine guns this weekend,

21.01.2022 Spent a really nice couple of days at the Scale Aviators 'For the Love of Aeromodelling' FlyIn on the weekend at their field just outside of Canberra. Great and... generous hospitality , the field in top condition and the opportunity to try some drones photography for the first time made for a memorable time. Looking forward to the next Fly In..... The Scale Aviators

21.01.2022 More time on the D7 dummy engine today. Value guides inserted, rocker arms made and painted. Sorted out the tappet adjustments. all valves and springs made.. Have to make the spark plugs next and start painting the barrels and cylinder heads.. Then I can start assembling the engine.

19.01.2022 Merry Christmas to you and your models

19.01.2022 Shepparton 2015: More Icons of fine Australian Scale Aviation. In 2015 my Pup was awarded Pilots choice WW1, that made the trip from Canberra all the more worth while, and it was truly a honor. Always great to catch up with everyone and to see all the magnificent aircraft. It is great to see all the aircraft back each year as well as new models.

19.01.2022 Shepparton 2014. Again Australian aeromodelling and scale aviation at its finest. I am going through my old photo albums, and will post some of these magnificent historic aircraft. Sadly some of the best Australian aeromodellers are not with us any more. ... Hopefully some of these images will bring back the great memories we shared. See more

18.01.2022 Cessna 152, I am going to need a bigger garage and a bigger trailer. That's a 1/4 scale DR1 hanging above it.

16.01.2022 Most enjoyable weekend flying at The Scale Aviators. Thank you to everyone for fun times. Plenty more photos of the weekend to follow.

16.01.2022 The Scale Aviators, Air B&B, Enjoying good times with Scale Aviators. I built the Pup to fly during the centenary year's of WW1, I still enjoy flying this machine, it feels so real in every thing that it does (scale aviation).

13.01.2022 Good progress today on the 1/3 Fokker D7 Mercedes engine. Took all week to print my cylinder and head design. I am now fitting valve guides and valve springs. I will print all the rocker arms and rocker covers tomorrow after I design them. Then i need to design the camshaft and cam drive. Going to be great fun painting this engine.

13.01.2022 Shepparton 2013: Following on from Tim Denaan's post Second weekend in September , I would have also been at Shepparton Mammoth flying event which is one of the highlights of the calendar for myself and many RC aircraft enthusiast. I have been making the pilgrimage for some 25 years. It is fantastic to see what is possible in this fantastic hobby when skilled, dedicated and enthusiastic aeromodellers get together.

13.01.2022 1/3 FOKKER DVll. More work on the Fokker D7 engine. Mounted the carburettor, and trying to decide to either paint the inlet runners copper or clade them with an insulating material , I have seen a few variations. Just finished the ignition lead runners and have to paint them. Hope I get the firing order correct. The guns are coming along nicely. I will post my progress on them soon. I need to do the guns so I can get back onto the cockpit area. I like to do the cockpit area so that it makes you want to climb in. I am thinking of doing the muzzel flash like i did on my pup. With the sound system I think it is very effective.

11.01.2022 Not sure there will be any air racing for a while so I have hung up the F2. Number 58, The Flash. Making some bench space for current and new projects.

05.01.2022 CESSNA 152: More progress on the Cessna. Rear inside of cockpit detail being added and also made the head light cowl assembly and mounted the landing lights, wow these things are bright..

04.01.2022 Engels E.1 (Fokker Dr.I - Fokker´s Triplane)

03.01.2022 Thank you to everyone that attended the "The Scale Aviators" Fly-In 9-11 October 2020. Fantastic Fun, Flying, Friends and food. I even went through 5 liters of fuel. Nights were cold but fine by the fire. Great to see the area recovering after the devastation and the fires.
