Every three months in our signature Strong & Agile Classes we will be testing our movement skills based on our PRSL model: Posture - how are we holding our bodies as we move?... Range of motion- how much range of motion have we achieved? Stability- Are we able to move safely & are we able to have steady ankles, knees, hips, wrists and shoulders? Load- Are we able to add intensity/progressively overload our movement? (We can do this with increased rep, sets, speed & tempo) - this doesnt just mean heavier We cant wait to help you track your progress - because what movement gets measured gets improved!! NOTE: Please note that does NOT mean counting calories, NOT counting weight loss or dress size - these things will set you up to: 1. Hate your body 2. Loose body trust & acceptance 3. 22.01.2022 Beautiful Boxing Babes . Boxing is all about communication and learning others and your own movement cues . Its great for letting rip on hard days and getting that boxing HIGH... . We all come into it with varying experiences and all ready to make mistakes (it is bound to happen as your brain communicates between L & R and all the combos!) . Its also the MOST self paced class. HOW?? As a boxer you control how hard & fast you punch when your padder is ready As a padder you control when the boxer stops or starts by cueing the right punch with the right hand & arm positioning of your pads AND if done correctly padding will challenge you but not exhaust you. . Remember our arms and shoulders must MOVE as we pad and as we punch . COVID-SAFE boxing too- each person has their own set of gloves and pads for the entire session- NO swapping! At the end of the session we spray them inside and out with a disenfectant & detergent mix, leave them to sit for 15 mins & our teachers complete the sanitation by wiping them out with paper towel and leave them to dry . We are so thankful for her cheekiness, her incredible work keeping SCS afloat & how much she lives & breathes self care in her own life. 20.01.2022 It’s T-minus three days til Christmas - here’s our advice around family, food and movement. . You are allowed to eat the day after Christmas, no matter how much or little you ate that day. You must eat- your body needs regular food every 3-4hrs. It doesn’t care you ate 5 plates of nanna’s pudding, prawns and some ham- You are ALLOWED to eat. . You are allowed to tell family members to SHHHH around weight, yours or others weight gain this during covid, how much or littl...e you eat, what you should/shouldn’t be doing - tell them ITS BORING & harmful to YOU (even dob me in as your PT & tell them I agree with you & if they don’t I will have a stern word with them!) Tell them that Diets don’t work for 90%+ of people and if they were a CAR they wouldn’t stand for it - there would be industrial action & lawsuits - so don’t promote them to me! They are also the leading cause of eating disorders & eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness! . Food is NOT naughty, bad or something shameful UNLESS you stole it from a baby, it’s gone off rotten or you ate it out of a dirty bin like George from Seinfeld. . You will not die if you take a week off movement. This year has been feral - you need rest. We give you permission to rest. . Your Body is GOOD- no matter it’s size, shape or dress size. Please do not believe the Diet Culture ads, cleanses, detoxes or crash diets- you do not have to be X size or X KG to be a complete human- YOU ARE ALREADY ENOUGH. . There is NOTHING special about January 1. It is just a day- pursue movement that: you enjoy, you can fit AROUND your life (not the other way round!), it makes you feel strong & empowered. .
