25.01.2022 Silver City Highway is the result of a desire to find the perfect velvet flares, an outback adventure into the desert and a fascination with the fashion of the 70s rock + roll scene. The outcome of this is a tiny fashion line of locally + ethically handmade threads from the fashion label Evie Jean, a photobook documenting the desert adventures of three girls and the aforementioned threads, and an exhibition of the series. The fashion line, book and exhibition are all under t...he name Silver City Highway; named after the highway which took us through the outback and into the desert. To celebrate the release of the threads, the book, and to exhibit the photos from the roadtrip, I’m hosting a little launch party at the coolest Fitzroy dive bar The Shady Lady, on Friday 13th (of March). You’ll be able to check out the full series of photos from the trip, buy a copy of the book and try on, buy + order the threads from Evie Jean - all of this with one of Shady’s iconic pina colada’s in hand.
