25.01.2022 If you like to sing and want to meet some amazing people. You don't have to be amazing or trained, just keen to have some fun. Get along to Bundy's Pub Rock Choir at the East End Hotel on the 28th of April.

24.01.2022 Review of Darkwood Carnival by Rusty Keys It was a colourful cast of characters at Darkwood Carnival as a host of bands stepped up to support The Shed in a multiband concert at Lana’s Farmers Markets on Saturday. Well, not exactly colourful seeing as black was the predominant choice for clothing with a healthy amount of pale face make-up and a smattering of fake blood thrown in for good measure. And that was just the audience. I spoke to a killer clown at the gate and when I... asked him which band he was in he told me that he was just there to see the show. So I offer the following observations that I made about the bands over the duration of this 10 hour marathon of power. PINEAPPLE SLURRY A killer combo of two who created true art to kick off the show. THE HYBRIDS Mixing it up with head bangin’ shreddin’ and rock vocals. IN EFFIGY Heavy and high energy. There’s more than a bit of grunt there. CURSE THE CROWN These guys were pumped and they never missed a beat as the rain came down. Some would say more shelter was required. Something like a big shed maybe? IRON WIZARD They brought the raw and the roar. It doesn’t get much more solid than that. LOCUS The lead singer would make Suzie Quatro roll over in her grave. Actually, I think Suzie might still be alive but she’s dead to me now. MORGUE Brought a wall of sound that was undeniably metal, metal and more metal. THE BRUTAL AFTERMATH Fkn heavy. These guys drove it like it was stolen. MERGATROYD Their sound was like a hand in a glove. Probably a Nazi’s glove who wants to punch you in the face and say Achtung, baby! Das ist metal! DEGENERATUM These guys brought the hammer time, fully legit. The kick drum was like a machine gun that would have turned that Nazi guy I mentioned earlier into a pink mist. THEREIN I think they should rename themselves Muhammad Ali because they float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. ABYSMAL FORTRESS Great energy. It was exhausting listening to them. These guys do double time like its nothing. PSYCHOSPHERE Pure drive and no hype necessary. This band keeps it about as real as it gets. Any realer and they’d rust. It truly was a big day out and all of the bands brought their best to this fundraiser in support of The Shed. There was so much talent on the ground that people were slipping over in it. If you’re into metal then get along to one of these events hosted by Crowned Ruckus and rock out. You’ll be glad you did. See more
