The Silent World seemed less less interested in painting a picture with sound and more concerned with that nebulous concept of feel as layers are built upon layers and riffs are as important to melody as they are to rhythm as an ocean of tension ebbs and flows like the tide." 16.01.2022 A huge thank you to everyone who came to down to support us last night. It was a great night with good vibesss. Also thanks to Sarah who joined us on violin. Sarah learned our songs in around 2 weeks and could play them better than us! The band is off on another hiatus for a while. But we'll continue to work on new material and hopefully play live somewhere, somehow, sometime again soon.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to play it tonight with Laurie out of the country, so we thought you might like to listen to it now to remember what he sounds like! This one has been kicking around for a while and is probably one of our most fun to play with its driving rhythm and myriad of cool riffs.
15.01.2022 Friends! It's been a long time coming but we're delighted to announce we have a brand new four track, self-titled EP on the way. To celebrate, we'll be making a rare live appearance - our first in more than a year - on Thursday January 22 to launch this baby. Joining us at the Rosemount Hotel will be three ridiculously talented supports in Lanark, Race to your face and The Ron Pollard Quintet. We can't wait to get back on stage and unleash these new songs on the world. It took us a long time to get the EP done but that reflects the high standards we've held ourselves to and the intensity and intricacy we've been striving to recreate. We'll be bringing out one or two special surprises at the launch and it's a very rare chance to see us live - don't miss it.
09.01.2022 Another banger! This is Kepler Fever, the closing track from our new EP. This track is fairly different to Shortbus - it's a lengthy dark number drawing influences from alternative country and post metal. It's also the heaviest song we've ever written and is an absolute beast live.
07.01.2022 After about 14 years The Silent World is proud to announce completion of its second EP. This self titled release consists of 4 tracks and runs for almost 30 minutes.
