14.01.2022 Dearest all, Ich habe genug translates to say I have enough .......................................beautiful. And amongst all the enoughs of this world I thought I would mention Havan . It is a wonderful practice at any time of year, we gathered last Saturday in the garden amongst the beautiful fallen leaves of autumn and chant the healing mantra.......................To a western mentality it sounds strange . To do is just wonderful. I Highly recommend. It is a transformative experience. Quite simply : Less is more.Let me know your interest to join in next time.I also attach an image of a snapshot of the event . V

12.01.2022 Dearest all, we are heading off on the 13th of November for 10 days of adventures in Morocco. http://culturaltoursmorocco.com/yoga-mandala/

10.01.2022 Time to say goodbye..........................................................Im not exactly sure why I thought of this song as away to say Goodbye to all of you in Beechworth Yoga. But there is nothing like the chance to share something so beautiful. Saying goodbye is always difficult especially when experiencing the rhythm of yoga practice that always breaks and opens the heart. Karen and I caught up for a wonderful chai and extended chat today to hear about all her wonderful travels overseas...........and hear about Giverny and Vincent Van Goghs work in Amsterdam. Term 3 begins on the 17th July and will see normal classes resuming for us both. Thank you

10.01.2022 Dear all, I must have been under some strange star that confused the process of interacting with my page! Hopefully my poster of classes is up....................Also my recent creation, another work in progress: The Thyme Labyrinth. I look forward to catching you in class or down the track of town, incidentally for those from beyond the fish bowl of Beechworth all classes will operate from the Singing Tree Centre

07.01.2022 Hopefully this photograph is as good as I remember! This is the view from my bedroom window on a winters morning. I have been a little Facebook/computer shy but thought it high time I opened up and shared my new web site : https://www.valeriecrosse.com at least I think that will work. My sincere appreciation to Dave Fullerton for bringing it all together. also important to mention that Mahesh Kalra will be coming up to Beechworth to offer Ayurvedic consultations on Sunday the 27th August. He also offers acupuncture and Reiki healings. You may be wondering about that strange word Ayurveda. Why not do some research on your favourite search engine? or give me call to discuss. Or to make a booking ring Jude 03 572480.

05.01.2022 Dearest all, Here is a delightful piece by Francis Couperin that I have tracked down. I hope you like it as much as I do. In the meantime ...............Summer has come and yoga classes are being offered for 2 weeks prior to Term 1 starting on the 5th February. Hopefully the attached program will also appear . I look forward to catching up with you in 2018. Valerie

04.01.2022 We give thanks for the blessing of winter:Season to cherish the heart. To make warmth and quiet for the heart. To make soups and broths for the heart. To curl up softly and nestle with the heart. To sleep deeply and gently at one with the heart. To dream with the heart. To spend time with the heart. A long, long time of peace with the heart. We give thanks for the blessing of winter:Season to cherish the heart. Amen B y Micheal Leunig. And make time for beautiful music. Here is one of favourites. Take time to slow down and BE even when you feel you would rather not. Let those emotions be released and find the peace underneath. Valerie

03.01.2022 just a little something from this year

03.01.2022 Winter has well and truly hit Beechworth and the perfect time to retreat and do some cooking or are you convalescing? I thought I would share a wonderfully nutritious dish with plus the pommie version called Kedgeree. The dish is Kichari. Really easy to make, incredibly inexpensive and perfect when you need something soulful................and easy to make. With much less from me and more about The ingredients: 1/4 cup of basmati rice , 1/4 cup mung beans, 1 tsp of turmer...ic and a pinch of salt , 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil. Method: In a large saucepan add all ingredients and stir. Add water to mixture, bring to the boil and then simmer and then keep adding more water until the mung beans and rice have merged into a consistency like porridge. This dish can be enhanced with a spoonful of yogurt and yummy Bengal chutney. Incidentally the attached recipe is from a British classic based on the Indian version but of course fish and eggs have been added. Happy eating. See more

03.01.2022 Here is a snap of my pomegranate tree. It looks too pretty to pick the fruit off so the birds are doing it for me! In the meantime I came down with that flu that has been doing the rounds. Sorry that I had to cancel classes! Rest assured that I will be offering catch up classes in the school holidays. I am off to Rocklyn Ashram on the 17th June weekend. Please feel free to join me.

03.01.2022 Dearest all, After many sad songs I thought I would include this particular song in a different light..................In classes started last week I mentioned that Dr Mahesh Kalra is coming to Beechworth on the 6th May. He is available to offer ayurvedic consultations and acupuncture and Reiki . For the uninitiated who are unfamiliar with Ayurveda check out the fantastic book by Deepak Chopra called Perfect Health. Basically Ayurveda is a sister science to Yoga. I have per...sonally found it to be enormously useful in my personal journey to excellent health. We all of us have a particular quality that can get out of balance e.g. For some it is Laziness others too much anger and for others too much fear. Hence the song which is probably retrospectively inappropriate these days. I attach Maheshs Flyer. Please get in early and make a booking. See more

01.01.2022 Dear all, last week were focusing on new beginnings to tie in with the new moon, this included the practice of trataka(candle gazing). A great practice to balance the nervous system and alleviate depression and insomnia. A simple way to introduce this wonderful practice into your everyday life is to light a candle at mealtimes, especially fun for the kids. This week we have shifted are attention to the digestive system. The energy centre related to this centre is called Manipura. It is all about firing up your own solar plexus to increase your digestive fire and keep warm whilst it is starting to get cool outside.
