13.01.2022 Let’s put some faces to The Skin Specialists. Hi, my name is Paige & this is my mumma Tracey. Together known as ‘The Skin Specialists’. We share something special together and that is, a passion for holistic skin heath management & education..... ( oh, and renovating as you may have noticed on our personal social platforms. #theblock ) I have been following alongside my mother Tracey in clinic for a number of years from a ripe young age of 10 years old. So, it is quite ironic and fitting that I now work with my Mum doing all things ‘Skin Health’. We are both Nurses & we hold nursing roles within our community. Although we hold other valuable roles as nurses within our community, our passion is within Skin Health in clinic at the Skin Specialists. Our mission: Skin Health, prevention, correction & patient education @theskinspecialists #skinhealth #nurse #motherdaughter

12.01.2022 ACNE. A dreaded skin concern that nearly all of us have experienced at some stage or another, some of us more than others . Our skin has two types of glands, a sudiferous gland also known as a sweat gland and a sebaceous gland which is an oil gland. . Acne develops within the Sebaceous gland. Sebaceous glands are located within the hair follicle. Our hairs help to wick the oil out over the the skins surface layer to protect it from moisture loss. . Pimples develop when th...e follicles get blocked; causing oil, dead skin cells and bacteria to build up within the hair follicle. . Inflamed acne lesions begin to develop when bacteria is trapped and proliferates within the follicle, feeding off dead skin cells and sebaceous oil. Over time the bacteria causes infection under the skin which can be excruciatingly painful, unsightly and often cause skin scarring. . One of the best ways to treat acne is by being consistent in preventative prescribed skincare and Clinical Treatments which correct the skins natural barrier function, remove sebaceous plugs and reduce bacterial bio load within the hair follicles. . Call 0402 627 290 for your Clinical Consultation with our Nurses today @ The Skin Specialists See more
