18.01.2022 Anyone Else Ever Have This Same Challenge As one who runs a marketing agency I often I have potential clients get on the phone and their very first question is: "How Much Do You Charge?" When a potential client leads with this question rather than a desire to understand exactly what you are going to deliver you can bet your bottom dollar they are either not going to work with you if your price is not the cheapest or if they still choose to work with you they are going to be ...a ripe PAIN in the A#s!!! There is an accurate and true saying by John Ruskin that outlines this perfectly and it goes like this: There is hardly anything in this world that someone cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and people who consider price alone are that person’s lawful prey. It’s unwise to pay too much, but it’s worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money, that’s all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you paid for was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot it can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
