We had a slow-paced, grounding, yin-style class to counter the changeable energy of the wind as we move into Spring. Bringing some kapha (earth), energy to balance out the movement of the vata, (air), energy. The wind can have many of us feeling agitated. Slowing down our physical body, our breath and our minds can help us to be kinder to ourselves and others. ... Every week I adapt the class to the season, the stage of the moon cycle, and the needs of the individuals who show up. Each class is a unique co-creation that I am honoured to be a part of. This year more than ever in our lifetimes, across the world mental health is a real issue. Be prepared to listen. Sometimes what we need when we're down is not advice but simply to be heard with compassion. ... The connection with others, physically, has been limited this year with the social isolation measures. Connection heals. Taking the time to really be with someone that needs it may be all that's needed to bring them back to balance. Sometimes more help is needed. In Australia we are fortunate to have government support for sessions with a psychologist with the Medicare Mental Health Care Plans. These give significant rebates and can be obtained from a GP. There are also some free helplines including lifeline for crises: 13 11 14 and listening ear, 9am-9pm for non-crises: +61294776777 Big love all

I had the pleasure and privilege of facilitating with this gorgeous group of humans Our shala on the back deck of my home, 10 mins from Bangalow in the Northern Rivers of NSW ... We enjoyed strong dynamic hatha, lush yin, gentle restorative and rejuvenating yoga nidra. Along with yummy big brekkies, a meditative bush walk and some precious bonding and rest time Huge thanks to the wonderful all-female team for their invaluable support. Next retreat coming early 2021, watch this space!
