10.01.2022 Great news! From today, The Smile Place Mt Eliza Is Back Providing General Dental Care! We are happy to let you know that, after Sunday's Victorian Government announcement of eased restrictions for Metropolitan Melbourne, Dentistry has now been moved to ADA's Level 1 restrictions.... We can now provide all dental treatments using standard precautions for people who do not meet epidemiological or clinical risk factors for COVID-19 infection transmission. It is imperative that we remain vigilant in the application of Level 1 restrictions and ensure the health and safety of our patients, our team and their families. We will continue to screen patients and staff for illness symptoms upon arrival to the practice. If you have any clinical symptoms of COVID-19 including sore throat, persistent cough, high temperature, loss of taste or smell or shortness of breath, delaying non-urgent treatment is recommended. We also request that you delay your treatment if you have been in close contact with anyone suspected of or having tested positive to COVID-19. In line with Victorian Government requirements, we require that our patients continue to wear their face coverings, face masks or face shields while within the practice and that social distancing rules are followed while in the reception area. You may be asked to wait in your car before your appointment, as our team coordinate the number of patients present in the practice at one time. 09.01.2022 You may not be aware that we provide regular support to a (growing) number of school-aged children living in the poorest areas of Bali. Our support helps ensure they stay in school and it's been great to follow the children's development and their achievements over time. The kids and their families, much like a lot of us here in Australia, have been hit very hard by the COVID crisis and unfortunately many of these families are now struggling, with no recovery in sight.... We are happy to see the results of the hard work and dedication shown by the Bali Children Foundation team

03.01.2022 COVID-19 7/8/20 UPDATE We have all seen a significant escalation of government measures to cope with the rise of COVID-19 cases in the state of Victoria. These extraordinary steps have been deemed necessary by federal and state governments to limit the spread of COVID-19 and minimise the impact of the pandemic. In these unprecedented and uncertain times, the safety and wellbeing of our patients, team members, dentists and communities are our top priority.... Following the recommendations of the Australian Dental Association - Victoria Branch, and an overnight mandate from the Victorian Government, we have now moved into "Level 3 Restrictions" for dental services. All dental practices in Metropolitan Melbourne are considered a "Permitted Service" and are allowed to remain open during this new period of lockdown, however, must provide urgent dental care only. This means we must defer all routine dental treatment, including examinations (check-ups), hygiene/scale and clean appointments, fillings, surgical extractions, dental implant placement or restoration of an implant, preparations for crowns and bridges and non-emergency orthodontic treatment, among others, until late September 2020. If you have an appointment booked with us in the coming weeks, we will call you to confirm the appointment time, or to reschedule. Our practice will maintain regular operating hours during this time, and we will continue to monitor the local COVID-19 situation and keep you updated with any further changes.
