25.01.2022 We are so thankful to everyone who came along last Thursday night for the soft launch of the Tick-Borne Disease Research program. A program very close to the Snow family, with lived experience of the disease. We are thrilled to back an expert, world renowned multidisciplinary team and work with the NORTH Foundation to support this crucial research into better understanding the source of infection, diagnosis and treatment pathways for patients suffering with potential tick-borne diseases. We look forward to sharing more with you as this research progresses, and we encourage you to learn more here. https://bit.ly/3wzCsWH #NORTH #NSLHD #PatientCare #tickbornedisease #lyme #lymedisease

25.01.2022 This is the most unsupported role women step into. And no, it’s not motherhood... A beautiful article written by Melissa Reader, CEO of Violet.org.au

23.01.2022 Firestarter, the beautifully told story of the Bangarra Dance Theatre and the Page family, is featuring at film festivals around the country, recently winning the Adelaide Film Festival feature documentary award. It highlights not only a deeply meaningful Indigenous culture but also the ongoing struggles and injustices affecting our country. We support selected documentaries through our partnership with the Documentary Australia Foundation. #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek

21.01.2022 This week marks 3 years since the Yes result! Check out this video from Equality Australia, it's the first in a series which will get into more detail about how far we've come and what still needs to be done to create the Australia that we want for ourselves and our loved ones. We must never take equality for granted. We have to keep working together as a community to create a place where LGBTIQ+ people are celebrated and supported. https://fb.watch/1Pa7Kn4kGA/

21.01.2022 How great is this?

19.01.2022 Leading up to Naidoc Week ACT 2020 the Yeddung Mura Aboriginal Family and Community Services got a make-over. In just three weeks, with 500 volunteer hours, and $35,000 worth of donated items the Support House was refreshed. Today we were invited to celebrate with the community and see the beautiful space the house has been transformed to under the creative leadership of Candice from SCENE. Congratulations to the Community Elders, Pastor Priestley, Deanne Booth and Margare...t Blackman and your team for all the work you do and the difference you make to many. #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek

19.01.2022 Earlier this week, we visited the incredible team at AbilityMade who have been working hard to create a digital health solution for orthotic care in regional and remote Australia. This social enterprise has developed a world-first, instantaneous 3D scanner and printing process, and is starting trials of a new telehealth service that enables children with a disability to receive an ankle-foot-orthosis (AFO) locally, without having to travel sometimes more than 700km. The scan...ner can provide a full scan of the leg in less than a second (great for kids who can’t sit still!). Where there is no local orthotist, the new telehealth model would mean that it can be operated by an allied health professional with a live link-up to a remote orthotist. The orthosis would then be modelled and produced digitally in the Sydney workshop and sent to the local health professional for fitting. Read more about their phenomenal work here https://www.abilitymade.com/ Celebrate International Day of People with Disability - 3 December.

17.01.2022 Wonderful to visits our friends at CCCares located at Canberra College which offers young parents the opportunity to complete their Senior Secondary Certificate and gain vocational qualifications in a supported environment. CCCares recently had 60 ADF personnel volunteer over 300 hours to help complete and beautify their Community Garden, Indigenous Garden and Reflection Gardens as part of of the Weary Dunlop volunteer program. We were also lucky enough to catch the instalment of their impressive coffee roaster, another skill the students will be able to master, along with the launch of the CCCares blend in 2021.

16.01.2022 Students from Ulladulla High School have been involved in this great ‘Swell’ program to help them heal following a traumatic summer. Their well-being officer Mar Ice has been a driving force behind their participation and they are loving it. The Snow Foundation have been supporting the position at the school for a few years now with funding to extend his hours. You are a champion Ice, we know the students benefit so much from having you around. Top Job!

13.01.2022 It may be the end of National Reconciliation Week, but we can continue to uphold this year's theme 'more than a word, reconciliation takes action'. Our partners One Disease continue to inspire with their actions to eliminate crusted scabies by 2022. Here's the story of their recent visit to East Arnhem Land, working alongside local community workers and Aboriginal Health Practitioners to estimate the prevalence of scabies in the community.
