25.01.2022 It’s simple but not easy. It has taken me literally years of honing my skills as a soap maker to come to the point where I am confident with my products. Yes, years!! Perhaps I might not have started if I knew the road would be so long and hard ... On the other side of those struggles and facing new ones of how to grow and scale our business am so glad I did persevere and I want to thank my husband Michael. He has always supported me and built me up when I was overwhelmed or discouraged. Thank you my love. So it got me thinking of all the people out there who maybe don’t have a great support team cheering them on, or to the mumma who has a dream, this post I dedicate to all of you. Keep going, bob and weave the punches, try and learn from every mistake. You’ll be glad you did xx

24.01.2022 Jumping into the school holidays

23.01.2022 Our eucalyptus trees endure so much. It’s either feast or famine for these guys. After all the devastation of the 2019 fires, I’m happy to see lush new growth after all the rain we have had. And just a reminder that from every sale we plant one tree in #Australia with the help and support of our friends at @onetreeplanted

23.01.2022 Nature’s colour palette Did you know that all these colours were achieved by using natural clays, essential oils and even food? That’s a big part of our business philosophy- We believe that natural is best!

17.01.2022 Night Body Oil is a beautiful addition to your night time routine to ease you into a restful night of sleep. Blended with a powerhouse of essential oils - lavender, roman chamomile and sandalwood it smells calming and familiar. Perfect to use at bedtime for each and every member of the family It’s also food for your skin Hero plant oils in this body oil formulation include macadamia, avocado, jojoba and sweet almond.

17.01.2022 Our process is slow. And that’s exactly how we like it! I love the philosophy behind the slow movement and we certainly live our lives in this way, but I run my business this way too. It is a cultural revolution against the notion that faster is better. The slow philosophy is not about doing everything at a snails pace. It’s about seeking to do everything at the right pace. Savouring the hours and minutes rather than just counting them. Do everything as well as possible inst...ead of as fast as possible. 16.01.2022 You have heard that body oils hydrate and moisturise right? Well that statement is half true.. Oils are definitely part of the moisturising process for sure, but a more accurate answer involves another key player..water ... Firstly, one must understand that oil and water play very different roles in hydrating and moisturising. Water is essential for hydration -as are other humectants like glycerin (which is left on your skin after using one of our soap bars ) Oil {or deliciously whipped Shea Butter in our case} seals in moisture just like plastic wrap- but for your skin! Did you just get a visual of your body wrapped in glad wrap Because what good is moisture if it evaporates right off your body? After showering with one of our beautiful bars, don’t dry off. Instead, use all that water on your skin and lock it in with our gorgeously fluffy and nourishing Mousse! That’s why we say our Mousse is the king of kings in the world of making your skin feel and look it’s best.

16.01.2022 That’s a wrap! Thank you for the support this year, despite no physical markets we have had a huge year of trading. It’s true you know, about the happy dance a business owner does when a sale comes through. Each and every order is appreciated and it is our hope that your purchase brings you joy!... We are going to take some time over the break to plan, restock and rest. Stay safe, From our family to yours xx

14.01.2022 Probably sounds a bit basic, but water is a pretty big deal as far as your skin is concerned. Think of it this way - like the rest of the human body, skin is composed primarily of water, right? But since it's also exposed to the elements, it can lose that water easily and quickly dry out. Water is like the fountain of youth for skin, no magical additives needed. It gets some water during showers and baths, but much of the water skin soaks up comes from the inside, meaning yo...u're the one who's in charge of putting it there. And water is very beneficial for skin. For example, it keeps the cells big and juicy, which can help make wrinkles less noticeable. It also works to increase blood flow and clear away built-up toxins. So the more water the better. . . #thesoapstress

13.01.2022 Slow down Sunday: How are you relaxing today?

11.01.2022 I spent a significant portion of the break researching new scent blends for our bar soaps. I love playing with #essentialoils We’ll always keep our favourite bars for our die hard fans (mine is the Bay leaf and Orange and the Pumpkin facial soap) but I’m sure you’ll love what I’ve come up with As you may know, we only use essential oils in our body bars and the list is literally endless with all the scent varieties on offer.... What are your favourite blends? Let us know in the comments

09.01.2022 The weekend: the perfect time to get dirty then get clean again . . . #thesoapstress

08.01.2022 One day I’ll be saying there are 3 generations of soap makers in this picture.

06.01.2022 One question we’re asked all the time is do we make our soap from scratch? Today, we wanted to share the answer and hopefully save a few of you some trouble of googling ingredients and going down the rabbit hole on unpronounceable ingredients. The long and short answer is YES!... That’s why we’re called The Soapstress The same way you’d expect a Seamstress to make your clothes, a Soapstress makes your soap! You can buy lots of pre-made soap bases on the internet but that’s not our jam! We love all the nerdy science and the most important thing to us is achieving specific qualities from our soap, and we can do that by choosing our plant oils . We don’t want it to be too cleansing that it strips all the skins natural sebum We want to leave our hands feeling clean, soft and smelling amazing! . . #thesoapstress

05.01.2022 Welcome back everyone, I hope your holidays were filled with love and laughter and a little bit too much delicious food. I just love this time of year. It is full of so much enthusiasm and energy! This year I start the year with great goals like eating cleaner (we have been vegan for a little over a year), moving my body more, reading books that inspire and being more present and connected with people I love #goals ... One goal I made 13 years ago was to use skincare that was clean and green Your skin absorbs everything you put on it and where do you think it goes after that? Dermal absorption is the transport of a chemical from the outer surface of the skin into both the skin and the body. Um, no thanks! And while we aren’t striving for perfection this is something we can totally achieve! Ditch the supermarket body wash that smells like artificial coconuts and consider using a natural handcrafted soap. This the EASIEST resolution you can make and keep in 2021 for yourself and the planet *pictured is a batch of our liquid soap scented in #lemonmyrtle The ingredients read; Olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, potassium hydroxide, distilled water, lemon Myrtle essential oil. ** no potassium hydroxide remains in the finished product

05.01.2022 Every once in a while, you come across a quote that completely hits home. This one does for us! . #thesoapstress
