09.01.2022 Bellingen Community Markets comes alive this Saturday 18 January. We have a great day planned with a wonderful variety of interesting stalls and good people, a... large selection of delicious food, coffee, drinks and very cool music. The Hendersons join us on main stage from 10am. Sister Esther and brother Will get together with best mate Dan and rip up a whole lot of soul/90s/pop tunes they love to write. Their show incorporates lots of notes, sass and big old loops which make it possible to layer huge orchestral harmonies with strings, trumpet, percussion and keys. The three have played music together since the early days of Bellingen High. Since then they have toured across Europe, along with the east and west coasts of Australia. They are about to release their first album for their January tour Music for Dogs. Don’t miss this very cool talented band who started in Bello and toured the world, on the main stage from 10am 2.30pm Nestled in Bellingen Park on the south of township the market covers a large expanse of ground, most of it surrounded by beautiful old growth trees and meandering creeks. There's also ample shady parking at the end of Park St, along Prince St near the swimming pool which is only a short walk away. Unfortunately dogs are not permitted to walk around market but we have a fenced off section where you can leave your friendly pooch with a lovely animal professional (Reya). Of course only friendly dogs can stay. Found on the corner of Ford St and Creek Lane, feel assured for $5 they will meet some friends and be in safe cool hands while you wander the market. There is something for everyone at Bello Markets. It buzzes with colour and character, trade and talent, networking and socialsing, great ideas and inspiration. Close to 40 years strong, valuing community, diversity and culture. Hope you can join us :-) To find out more go to our webpage at www.belleingenmarkets.com.au. 08.01.2022 Bello Markets is this Saturday - Saturday 21 September. It's going to be a big, beaut day with hundreds of diverse stalls, scrumptious multicultural food, del...icious coffee, drinks and very cool live music. There's heaps for the kids to do with jumping castle, swings, face-painting, beading and a huge footy oval to run around. Music is by GLENN HEATH AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA who play from 10am-2.30pm. The blues fusion trio write original material bent for improvisation. Unashamedly deeply rooted in the blues genre, they take full advantage of the diverse rhythmic content of blues and shift effortlessly between hard driving Chicago Blues to sweet soulful Delta, cool funky jazz and electrifying Latin Styles. The band have developed their own authentic blues sound. Glenn Heath is the band’s vocalist/guitarist/songwriter and rhythm is Geoff Dixon and Joe Tussi. They are well worth seeing and hearing :-) In readiness for the Bello Fine Music Festival 26-29 September, the talented youth orchestra join us on stage when the band has a break. Bellingen High School P&C are our community group of the month. The group help us set up and pack down and man the gates during the day raising needed funds for their valuable student projects. We are wheelchair friendly with seating in food areas and sporadically around park and there's parking for tour buses at bus stop in Park St. Looking forward to our Super Spring Celebration. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to experience Bellingen Community Markets... cause its not just a market place but a great place to be :-)
06.01.2022 Markets are cancelled. If you still need body/hair bars please send me a message or order online www.thesoapygoat.com.au Pick up in Bellingen, delivery to Coffs Harbour or postage available.

THE MERCHANT BANKERS are playing on stage from 10am-2pm. They are an emerging group of talented young artists who have played in various venues on the Coffs Coast over the past 12 months. Their diverse range of music is influenced by artists such as Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Paul Kelly, James Bay, Passenger, Johnny Cash, The Eagles, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Mumford & Sons and The Beatles. The founding members of the band are Josh Merchant on electric/acoustic guitar and vocals as well as writing original songs, younger brother Lachlan is on drums and friend Ethan Barrett plays bass. The band has a number of interchangeable guess performers they call on from time to time to lend a hand on keyboards, guitar and vocals. The Bankers takes audiences back in time, to those days of classic rock songs with detailed lyrics and unforgettable guitar riffs. You’ll quickly be singing along! They also surprise audiences with a more folky sound, as Josh also plays banjo and Ethan the mandolin, so there is often a change of pace and music styles to keep things interesting. They were formed in 2018 as an addition to the Drumline that has existed for about 10 years. This US style ensemble is directed by an American drum teacher, Mark Spence and supported by another American, Natasha Jones. This year there are 22 drummers and 32 wind players. BENDY M contorts her body in the weirdest of ways on the west side of market. OZ GREEN are our community group for the month. This valuable organisation educates people around the world empowering them to take action to improve their environment and become leaders of positive social change. OzGREEN is an independent not-for-profit that was founded in 1992. Their unique approach incorporates citizen science, sustainability education, leadership training and community development. The group are raising money at Bello Markets for their citizen science programs and award winning Youth Leading the World Initiative. Emily and her dedicated team from Premier Pet Services will fence off an area on the east/north side of market, under the shade of the trees, on the corner of Creek Lane and Ford St. For $5 you can leave your pooch with a caring and kind dog minder who will give them water and company. We kindly ask visitors not to tie their dogs up to boundary fences as it's better to take your pet over to the creche for a fun visit with other friendly doggies. Please only friendly dogs allowed. GOOD NEWS - Bello Council have replaced the bridge from stage area to west side of market. They have done an excellent job and we thank them whole heartedly. The weather is looking good for our last spring market this year and we're looking forward to a dynamic day abuzz with creativity, colour, character, trade, and friendly connections. Hope you can join us :-) Bellingen Community Markets.... not just a market place but a great place to be.
