18.01.2022 This year's National NAIDOC Week theme is Always Was, Always Will Be, recognising the ancient presence of Australia's indigenous cultures across the lands and waters of this country. We at the Studio pay our respects to the traditional owners of the lands on which we operate - the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Wurundjeri Willam people - and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. This week, we urge our non-indigenous supporters to pause for a few minutes and read the Uluru... Statement From The Heart, arguing for a representative First Nations body in federal Parliament (see link below for translations in 60 languages, via SBS News), or throw your support behind some awesome indigenous creatives such as our Collingwood Yards friends Haus of Dizzy and Gammin Threads. part of the Genesis series by Kamilaroi artist, and friend of TSS, Reko Rennie. https://www.sbs.com.au//the-uluru-statement-from-the-heart

17.01.2022 "The Social Studio has helped me learn all-round technical fashion skills, from fashion sketches to fabric choices, pattern making, and sewing. All these skills that I acquired have helped with my confidence and transition into the Bachelors of Fashion Design. I am learning about complex bigger ideas relating to fashion which have built on my skills learned at TSS. I feel dedicated and inspired to continue my focus in fashion with future plans to create my own small luxury h...igh-end fashion label with a sustainable business focus using bright bold colours as my main inspiration. My teachers have been very supportive, and have well prepared me for post studies, a great social place where I have built good relations with my teachers and love to come to visit during my study breaks". Our hearts are positively bursting at this beautiful feedback from 2019 TSS graduate, Chudier

We can adopt these rituals from others or create them ourselves, little moments that create comfort and routine in our chaotic lives." We were lucky enough t...o see the beginnings of this collection back in March when Collective Closets joined us on the runway for @vamff show, 'Powerful Bodies', in collaboration with @library_vic. Congratulations Fatuma + Laurinda, we can't wait to come and see! Photography: @michaelabarcaphotography Model: @minmin3.0 #collectiveclosets #traditions #friends #community See more
