Our Teaching Artists work with playgroups to help children explore, develop, and reinforce positive habits while preparing them for their school years. We also provide professional development for playgroup facilitators to boost confidence as they teach Arts Learning and pre-literacy skills to their budding students. 15.01.2022 For those who have been following Southwell Primary School's Deadly Arts program with us in recent weeks, we're excited to announce students at Southwell Primary School have finished their epic ant and snake sculptures and they look incredible! The sculptures were created while students were learning the story of how the wargyl rainbow serpent created the Noongah country. The students worked in teams with their Teaching Artists Rachel Riggs and Seantelle Walsh to bend the can...e to create the structures, before weaving raffia into the ant and silver strips through the snake, and painting parts of the sculptures to finish them off. Now that the sculptures are done, they will take pride of place in the school's upcoming art exhibition for everyone to see. Find out more about our programs here: songroom.org.au

04.01.2022 Check out these amazing animations created by the students at #EpenarraSchool in the central desert with their Teaching Artist, animator Jonathan Daw. This was the first time The Song Room delivered a media arts animation program in a remote location and it was a hit! As you can see the program linked with visual art and literacy (storytelling) as well as the elements of media. What a great way to celebrate NAIDOC Week. #NAIDOCWeek2020 #songroom
