25.01.2022 Were not claiming to be the most informed about this but what we will say, as this conversation about jobs and the economy is unfolding, is that we would love to see the Arts given back their funding and focus through this Job Maker process. Arts along with Tourism (which is clearly affected right now for obvious reasons) injects a respectable amount of money into our economy. Artists are creative by nature (duh) so, when dealt an odd hand, were good at working around it.... ...and we think 2020 might just be considered an odd hand. Artists are also, by and large, ethical, environmentally and community minded and good at creating jobs and spreading wealth into our local community and economy when were given the opportunity to do so. Our services, spirit and skills are durable and adaptable. Were intelligent beings. The skills we bring are vast and when were lacking, we are incredibly good at the acquisition of new skills too. The product we make doesnt have to be dug out of the ground and it doesnt result in water shortages or run the risk of toxic spills or the destruction of sites, sacred or otherwise. We tend not to sell our product offshore just so Australia needs to buy it back at an even greater cost, which seems to be a firm favourite play by our Government over the years, and what we do doesnt serve to benefit the wealthiest few percent alone either. Art in its many forms also has far reaching positive effects on mental health and, call us crazy (yeah lols), but wed like to think we can all agree that everyones mental health has probably been having a bit of a rough run lately, no? And that maybe having a boost in focus to those people who help to facilitate the rest of the country reflecting on, responding to and occasionally just distracting themselves from stress might be handy at this time, no? Maybe were alone in thinking this way but, while were chatting about how to fire this engine up again and what parts #ScoMo wants to stimulate (gross ), maybe we need to talk about how we can put the Arts back on Australias agenda. Were welcoming of others thoughts on this - just keep it respectful ey... T.I.A. 12.01.2022 Lets have a conversation about OUTDOOR DANCE CLASSES Folks, as weve emerged on the other side of our Fringe hiatus, like the rest of our arts community, we are staring the reality and ramifications of the coronavirus situation in the face. We take everyones health and wellbeing very seriously. Not just now, but always, and on the topic of OUTDOOR CLASSES wed like to hear from as many of my fellow dance community members, including TSC students, as we can about how we can... continue to best serve the physical and mental health needs of our dance community at this time. Being that our studio space (indoors) is under construction currently, we would be outdoors for any classes we were to run which isnt actually new affair for us lol... You know us, were renowned for running classes in sheltered, outdoor and therefore open-air spaces. If you havent attended before, just know that it is actually a really lovely experience. So, if we started back some street dance classes and maybe some contemporary/stretch classes, outside as we often do, would you attend assuming the level and timetable was appropriate for you? Or, do you feel the risk is too great? As you think on this, please assume the obvious regarding our infection prevention measures and know that we would be taking all sensible and reasonable precautions regarding hygiene, asking anyone feeling unwell to stay away and adhering to social distancing guidelines. Were aiming to have an open, honest and respectful dialogue with my community as we make our decisions on what happens moving forwards, so please let me know your thoughts when you have a moment either below or DM me. Looking forward to hearing everyones thoughts and hope youre looking after yourself and others well through these uncertain times.

For the last 10 weeks these amazing ladies have been sweating it out in our first 10-week Adult Beginner Street Jazz course and were very proud to present their first performance video. The act of celebrating a phenomenal black artist, from Minneapolis, through a SoulTrain line, as we mourn the loss of one of the original SoulTrain dancers, Tyrone The Bone Proctor, fills us with mixed emotions. Both of these men brought life, excitement, energy to the world largely through their art and their self expression. Their unwavering s...tandards have and will continue to inspire us to be accountable, to be and do better and, of course, do our best to spread joy, energy, funk, soul and hope to all those around us. This throwback is us rounding out our double barrelled Street Dance Grooves & Stretch class workshop with a SoulTrain line to "Chelsea Rogers" - one of our all time favourite Prince tunes!
