25.01.2022 Our team lent a hand or two in the North Sydney Councils Business Clean Up Australia event at the foreshore of Berry Island this week. Wonderful to be amongst so many like minded locals. And AMAZINGLY sad to find so much rubbish at what looked at first glance to be a pretty clean beach area. All the more reason to keep striving for waste-free living. Huge thanks to the dedicated team at NthSyd Council.

12.01.2022 We just had to repost this from our gorgeous customer @freshlysteff Cookiesssss While I wasnt sure how this recipe would turn out Im pretty happy with the cakey cookie recipe that I developed! These are my mixed spice oaty chocolate chip cookies! Ingredients: 1 cup oats, 3/4 whole meal flour (from @thesourcebulkfoodscrowsnest), 1 egg, 1 tsp mixed spice (do not mistake for Chinese 5 spice), 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tbsp melted butter, 1/3-1/2 cup @pureharvest rice malt... syrup, and a self chosen amount of chocolate chips. Method: Mix everything in a bowl and put in the fridge until you remember the mixture is in there. Cook for about 15 minutes on 165 degrees Celsius! They are best eaten warm but even the one I had cold for breakfast this morning was One thing I love and definitely find challenging about my job is finding the right balance between making swaps that are going to make something more nutritionally dense and also making it taste good. While I could have swapped the butter out for olive oil, used fruit instead of rice malt syrup to sweeten it and used nuts instead of chocolate chips, I still want to enjoy what I am eating and not feel like Im missing out on anything! 07.01.2022 Is it movie night yet? Make the best pop corn ever by heating up 3 Tbsp coconut oil on medium heat. Add three kernels of popping corn and wait til they pop. Then add the rest (1/3 cup) of the kernels. Cover pot and remove from heat and count 30 secs. Return pot to stove and the corn should start popping all at once. Shake pot a little as they pop then tip into a bowl and add our pink lake salt... and maybe some spices (delicious with paprika) or for a cheesy taste, sprinkle nutritional yeast. It can be used for a soaked bircher muesli breaky, sprinkled on top of yoghurt, or included in this delicious BIRCHER MUESLI SLICE. This slice is perfect for lunch boxes, as an afternoon snack or even a nourishing dessert. Our very own clever team member Thilde has created this amazing slice recipe and is very eager to share it with you. INGREDIENTS* 2 Cups Bi...rcher Muesli 1 Cup Wholemeal Plain Flour/wholemeal spelt flour 1 Teaspoons of Cinnamon 1 Egg 1/3 Cup Olive Oil/coconut oil/ melted butter 1/3 Cup Honey INSTRUCTIONS Combine the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl (muesli, flour, baking powder and cinnamon). Add the egg, oil and honey to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined. Line a loaf or brownie tray with baking paper (or for a waste-free option, coat the baking tray with oil/butter/coconut oil, dust with flour and ensure all the edges are covered). Bake at 180 degrees for 15-18 minutes. Let the slice cool on a rack and if you’re feeling a little extra, add a drizzle of your favourite chocolate.
