19.01.2022 Who wants a BOOnana pop? They’re great for a lazy and somewhat healthier Halloween treat RECIPE 3 bananas 250g vegan-friendly white chocolate ... 1 cup nut butter of choice 40g vegan-friendly milk or dark chocolate Cut the bananas in half and insert a wooden stick into each. Place on a tray lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat and freeze for 1 hour. Dunk the pops into the nut butter, lay back on the tray and freeze for another hour or so until the nut butter has solidified a little. Melt the dark chocolate and pipe eye and mouth shapes onto a lined baking tray and freeze for 5 minutes to set. Dip the pops in the melted white chocolate to coat and freeze them again for 15 minutes to set. Add the chocolate eyes and mouths (you can use some melted chocolate to secure them) or skip this step and directly draw faces on the pops! Eat immediately or freeze until ready to serve! #repost @addictedtodates

08.01.2022 Because who uses a whole jar of tomato paste? Seriously, I’ve never came across a recipe that uses a whole jar of tomato paste. Before, the half empty jar would sit in my fridge until I forgot about it, then it would become waste. Now I buy a larger jar, use the tiny bit that’s required, and freeze the rest into cubes. It’s the perfect amount, and there is no waste being created if I forget about it In our home, freezing is our go-to food waste saver. From pasta sauce, to...mato paste, broth, and leftover plant milks, we freeze it all!! How about you?? What kinds of things do you freeze? @plantedinthewoods

01.01.2022 FRENCH TOAST ROLL UPS These are not only delicious, but also super fun to make and a great kid-friendly recipe for the whole family to get involved! It’s a very versatile recipe so you can load them up with different fillings every time Prep: 15 ... Cook: 10 min Makes: 8 Ingredients 12 cup (125mL) unsweetened soy or almond milk 1 tbsp plain flour 12 tbsp nutritional yeast 14 tsp ground cinnamon 2 tsp pure maple syrup 12 tsp vanilla extract Pinch of salt 8 slices white sandwich bread (can sub with wholemeal instead) 1 tbsp vegan butter Fillings of choice: Eg. Vegan cream cheese + strawberries, choc spread + banana, peanut butter + crushed roasted peanuts Method: 1. In a shallow dish, whisk together the milk, flour, nutritional yeast, cinnamon, maple syrup, vanilla extract and salt. 2. Cut the crusts off the bread (don’t throw them out! I like to dip them in any remaining milk mixture and fry them up), then use a rolling pin to flatten out each slice. Spread and add your desired fillings along the bottom of the slice of bread then tightly roll up. 3. Melt vegan butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Dip each roll in the milk mixture to cover all sides. Drip off any excess, then place in the pan, seam-side down. Cook until golden brown all over. 4. To serve, stack the roll ups on each plate into a pile, then top with fresh fruit. Dust with icing sugar then drizzle with melted vegan chocolate or maple syrup. *Note: Simply sub for GF flour and bread to make this recipe GF. and recipe from @thrivingonplants
