21.01.2022 This project has been really emotional and lovely at the same time. A client asked me to redo her mums cushion covers. She had cancer and made these cushions for her daughter out of memories, her favourite dress, her favourite fabrics, being Liberty. Ten years forward, they have been much loved. My project was to remake the with as much fabric that I could with her mums fabrics. It has been a journey, but I’m pretty happy with what I’ve managed to create. This is my dream, to repurpose, re use and not throw out. Tell me what you think about my creations. Just remember we can repurpose, products can be remade, look outside the box. 11.01.2022 Tonight, I have been reflecting on my little business. 4 years ago I had a vision, it wasn’t supported by all, but this gorgeous lady believed in me and lent me $7,000 out of her hard earned savings and she was a single mum, bless her. We have been friends since we were around 11 years old. The fact that she was happy to invest gave me the strength that I needed, her belief in me made me strong. The business has been through a lot of highs and only a few lows. Small business ...is struggling at the moment and I’m really hoping that we are going to be okay. I now have staff relying on me for their bread and milk. Regardless of what this virus brings, I will always be thankful for friendship, support and having wonderful friends in my life. As a small business we can’t get job keeper, as the government takes our assets on the sales, not the profit. We definitely made a lot of sales, but at the time we were paying 22 wages, not profit.
