23.01.2022 My lucky number is 3. Because of that, the 3rd is my favourite day of each month. Today is even more special because it’s the 3rd of the 3rd. I hope the universe has big things in store for me today. ... Tell me: what’s your lucky number? #freelancewriter #freelancer #bosslady #speechwriter #copywriter #contentwriter #smallbusinessowner #Canberra #cbr

22.01.2022 Parts of the world are going into ‘lockdown’ to stop the spread of #covid19. But let’s not mistake this for ‘shutdown’. Even in a lockdown, there is still work to be done. The world must, and will, go on. So how can we help? Be a leader in your field. Everyone is looking for answers, for advice, in these unprecedented times. ... Step up. Be the beacon. Take the reigns. Help navigate through this unchartered territory. Even as we isolate, we must come together. Communicate with your clients. Be open and honest, but also reassuring. People don’t like uncertainty. It makes us feel threatened. It changes the way we process situations. So give people some certainty. Even if it’s the simple promise to communicate with them every day. I went to a great speechwriting conference last year and one of the speakers said, It’s a leader’s job to be a dealer in hope. That line stuck with me. To all the leaders out there: be a dealer in hope, provide certainty and help the world navigate this crisis. #speechwriting #leadership #leadershipcommunication #leader

20.01.2022 Be bold. Be brave. That is my mantra this year. Building a business requires nerves of steel. Last week was completely booked out. It was wonderful. This week is a different story. I only had one job lined up. ... But things change quickly. Today two new jobs landed, and that’s worth celebrating. So here’s to celebrating success, no matter how big or small. Tell me: what big or small wins from today are you celebrating? #bosslady #freelancer #freelancewriter #entrepreneur #iquit9to5

19.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has liked my page overnight. I thought I would tell you a little about why I've started my own business. It's been a long held dream of mine. I like the thought of bringing a business baby into this world and building something meaningful. ... I also like the freedom and flexibility that comes with owning your own business. The choice to work different hours so that I can be there at school drop off and pick up. But it wasn't an easy decision to quit my job - a great job - to build a business from scratch. It required me to be brave and silence self doubt. The truth is I have no idea what's in store, or if I'll even be able to win enough clients. But I do know you only live once, so here I am chasing my dreams. I've been privileged to have spent the last few years writing speeches for two Australian Prime Ministers, other federal government ministers and high-profile government leaders. Now I'm excited to have the opportunity to work with more organisations and leaders to help change this world for the better through good communication. For me, 2020 is about taking a huge leap of faith and going on an adventure. No doubt it will require a lot of hard work but I'm excited about the opportunities that await. Here I'll share with you the ups and downs of building a business from scratch, as well as speechwriting and communication tips (after all, that is where my expertise lies). Thanks again for being part of my little community and coming on this adventure with me. #entrepreneur #freelancer #bosslady #speechwriter

16.01.2022 Did you know that #gratitude has been scientifically proven to be good for both your mental and physical health? Right now, the #Coronavirus is creating a lot of anxiety and fear. Let’s counter those emotions with gratitude. What are you grateful for? ... I’m grateful for many, many things, but always at the top of the list is my beautiful, supportive family. Now over to you.

13.01.2022 Even though I’m a #freelancer and I don’t have work #colleagues, I still whack on my favourite red #lipstick in the morning. Life is too short to not look and feel #fabulous, even if no one else is around. (One of life’s lessons from my Aunty Shirley.) #freelancewriter #bosslady #speechwriter #entrepreneur #smallbusinessowner #copywriter #contentwriter

10.01.2022 Today is the start of week 3 in my own business, and it’s off to a great start. Towards the end of last week it felt like my little business was gaining momentum. The support I have received from friends, old and new, as well as colleagues, past and present, has really blown me away. ... Thank you, everyone. Your kind words and encouragement have meant so much to me. #speechwriter #entrepreneur #freelancewriter #freelancer #copywriter

01.01.2022 What does it take to build a thriving business from scratch? I asked Canberra-based make-up artist Jacqui Scott Makeup. This is her story. #Bossbabe #bosslady #CBR #freelancer #freelancewriter #smallbusiness #entrepreneur
