23.01.2022 The Spice Avenue is now officially closed for trade.... We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the customers that have supported our business over the past 14 years. It has been an absolute pleasure to service the British community with their favorite English curries. It is an honor to leave the restaurant industry after 40 years of trade, ranked as the number 1 of 177 Indian restaurants in Brisbane, and also ranked #13 of all 3732 Restaurants in Brisbane.... We are overwhelmed with the amount of retirement gifts, well wishes & cards sent in over the past few weeks & we thank you all for wishing us well. It was lovely to see all the regulars in over the past few weeks, we will be uploading a photo album of our last night of trade shortly. Once again we thank you all for your support, it has been an enjoyable experience for us all. The Spice Avenue Family.

14.01.2022 LOCKDOWN UPDATE We have been in contact with the local authorities & they have confirmed that we are still permitted to operate for takeaway only during the lockdown period. Therefore Pre-order chilled pickups scheduled for tomorrow at Syd's Pies will continue as normal. Tonight's Hot Food at Thirsty Chiefs Northlakes will continue but earlier than originally scheduled. Hot Food will be served at Thirsty Chiefs from 2.00pm onwards & Hot Food Takeaway will also be available. Please Note: This is limited to the hot food truck menu.

12.01.2022 WORLDS HOTTEST CURRY CHALLENGE ! Alex Haller is now the 11th person to complete the Balti Phall. In 13 years of trade in Australia only 11 people have managed to complete this dish. He struggled through the dish & literally seconds after taking the picture it all came back up... he spent a while in bathroom and we believe one of his friends had to drive his car home due to him feeling so dizzy & sick ...... This dish consists of Trinidad scorpions, ghost moruga naga & Carolina reapers (3 of the worlds hottest ) Do you have what it takes to reach our wall of fame, or will ur mouth burn in flames ?

10.01.2022 ********** RESTAURANT SOLD ********** The official closing date/last day of trade is: ### SUNDAY 25TH MARCH ###... Brisbane's only British Curry house is now approaching its final days. If you wish to get your last Balti fix, we highly recommend booking a table. Due to high demand online bookings have been de-activated, please call to book on 07 3822 9822. Only the restaurant set up has been sold, the restaurant will not continue trading as The Spice Avenue and will also not be trading as an Indian restaurant.

09.01.2022 WORLDS HOTTEST CURRY Last Friday Brummy Brett had a go at our Balti Phall worlds hottest curry challenge. Egged on by 10 lads on his table he did quite well. He got half way before the stomach cramps kicked in. He then unfortunately had to make a few trips to the bathroom to bring it all back up. Our chef Naz gave him the chefs remedy drink to help him bring it up & soothe the pain..... He didn't quite make the wall of fame and join the other 11 people - but he had a good go.. Do you have what it takes to take on our worlds hottest curry challenge ?

08.01.2022 PRE ORDERS ARE SOLD OUT We will release the following weekends location next Monday for pre orders. We are still scouting locations - if anyone has a business carpark (preferably on a main road) that can be used by us between 5-7pm on a weekend (with permission)- please let us know.

08.01.2022 ***** RESTAURANT FOR SALE ***** Get your British Balti Fix while you still can !!! We are approaching the end of an Era. ... Chef & Owner Naz & his wife Rushna have decided it is time to retire... Therefore after 40 years of trade in the restaurant industry, it’s time to hang up their aprons and move onto the next stage of their lives. The Spice Avenue would like to thank all customers for the support it has received over the 13 years of trading in Australia, many customers have become close friends & associates. We truly value the continued support you have given our business which has allowed us to be so successful for so many years. We would also like to extend our thanks to the many employees we have had over the years, many of which have become like family. We understand this is not what our customers want to hear, however all good things must eventually come to an end. The boys (sons) have started young families and the restaurant lifestyle is not practical for them, therefore they will also be moving on to other things. We will be selling the restaurant as a fully fitted & equipped restaurant which can be turned into any style of restaurant. Please note: the name, & running business will not be sold or passed on. If anyone is interested in the venue or knows of anyone that may be interested in starting a new restaurant or expanding on a current business, please get in touch with us to discuss further. We are not sure how quickly or how long it will take to sell. But in the meantime The Spice Avenue family will continue trading with all their passion & all their hearts until the restaurant has sold. So we highly recommend getting your British Balti fix as many times as possible while we are still around...

08.01.2022 Today we celebrate our 13th year anniversary. It has been 13 years since we moved out from the UK & opened The Spice Avenue here in Brisbane, Australia. We would like to thank all our customers for the ongoing support over the last 13 years - we are extremely grateful to all our loyal customers, many have become close friends and associates. 02.01.2022 We would like to apologise to all the customers that came out for our Hot food launch last night. We were blown away by the huge turn out & therefore we were under prepared to serve them all a meal. The queue/wait was lengthy & we sold out very quickly - for that we sincerely apologise. As it was our first day serving hot food from the truck, there was a few teething issues & lessons learnt. We will now go back to the drawing board to devise a better system to make the proc...ess more efficient. We thank all our customers for the ongoing support & please bear with us - we are determined to get this right ! Please note: Tonight is chilled pre orders pickups only at North Lakes.

It was so nice to see this review up on Trip Advisor today, which made us realise that a lot of our customers travel far and wide to enjoy our food. To see a family fly up to Brisbane from Melbourne for the weekend just to enjoy their last meal, made us realise that what we are going to miss most about our restaurant, is the connection we have with our customers...
